Installed pics of New RSD BOV Kit

RS Design – Charge Relief Kit

Designed specifically for the BMW 335i (N54) turbocharged applications, the RS Design Charge Blow-Off/ Diverter System prevents compressor surge which can be detrimental to the longevity of the turbo(s). Utilizing a unique design that allows for crisp throttle response and increase turbo spool – the RSD Charge Kit will vent excess charged air through the use of a HKS SSQV (Super Sequential Blow-Off Valve) which uses a pull type relief valve. The SSQV is actuated by pressure alterations only, ensuring quick valve response and complete closure during idle. The SSQV utilizes two valves to offset and balance the charged air and increase efficiency. Smooth mandrel bends and a step design ease airflow into the throttle body.
As the excess charged air is vented to atmosphere or re-circulated *(RSD optional kit), the concern of air being fed back to the compressor house causing potential damage to the turbine and its cartridge is minimized. This is a complete bolt-on kit and no modifications are needed. The RSD Charger kit will fit most popular aftermarket intakes. Kits are offered in tasteful color options.

Key Features:
- Complete Bolt-on Design
- Prevents Compressor Surge by Venting Excess Charged Air
- Crisp Throttle Response
- Improves Turbo Spool
- Increases Longevity of Turbo(s)
- Utilizes HKS SSQV Blow-Off Valve Unit (Matte Black or Silver)
- T-6061 Aerospace Aluminum Adapter Flanges and Bracket all Mandrel Bent
- 4-Ply Nomex High Heat 350 degree and Oil Resistant Couplers
- Stainless Steel Hose Clamps
- *Optional RSD Re-Circulation Kit (60.09X.CPR.N54)
- **Optional lower intercooler connection pipe
- Offered in Wrinkle Black, Racing Red, Titanium, Polished
- Made in USA

Any charge pipe without out T-Bolt clamps or the stock C-clip connector is likely to blow of thats what it seems like many forum members have experienced.

I wouldnt buy this unless they provide t-bolt clamps or you are willing to purchase your own.

Even with T-Bolt clamps, the couplers will accumulate oil in the stock ring on the TB. That is a blow off waiting to happen.

We've had a few units on vehicle's for a few months now and haven't had any blow off issues, probably due to the better quality hoses and the flanged pipe ends.

We can special order them with bungs for meth or boost gauge, we just need to know which type you are using.

I have to agree that as long as the pipe ends are flanged then you don't even need T-bolts, worm clamps will do. Just like the AMS FMIC uses. And if you are gonna put T-bolts on everything make sure the piping isn't aluminum or you are going to start bending shit...

If you want insurance then buy an OCC. Car should have came with that anyway.

I currently have this piece and am very happy with it. Upgraded from the stock charge pipe and right away, gained about +1 lb of peak boost. Definitely better then the stock piece imho.

Just be ready for the rash of blow offs when it happens. There are a number on the market and all have flanged ends and quality hoses.

I couldn't agree with you more NJ.

I also currently have this piece and am extremely satisfied with the overall sound, and feel of the HKS BoV & the charge pipe paired with InJen's DCI intake for the 335i. The sound of the above items combined with an aftermarket exhaust system will blow you away. It is also a wow factor to many other people who don't expect a BoV on our cars. I've gotten many compliments and questions regarding what is under my hood after parking my car as well.

Bavarian Exclusive has yet again provided a quality product with great build and performance for the end user.

Stay tuned for videos !

There's a reason that the t-bolts weren't used, even in our installs and tests we found the t-bolts didn't put an even load on the coupler and was overkill. The RSD pipe also has a bracket for added support.

We have hundreds of members that will attest to the fact that simple silicone couplers with off the shelf clamps will blow off the charge pipe. It has been tested over and over. Regardless of what bench testing shows, the real world has proven this as fact.

Test vehicles = real results

RSD also is NOT using simple silicone couplers, the Nomex non slip high temp are the most expensive, best quality hoses made for these applications. There is a big difference between these and some plain Autozone hoses. If anyone really is set on having t-bolts we can supply those too.
