A strange "new" sound and rise in oil temps?
Sorry for the posible lame or stupid question, but I am experiencing some new issues with the car. First let me start by saying that I do have the OEM oil cooler on the car and have rarely seen oil temps go above 250 degrees even after some WOT pulls, multiple on long trips.
Anyways, my oil temps have been going much higher and not coming down near as quickly as they did in the past. Before, if my oil temps would go above 240+ it would quickly drop. This "issue" just started after I had my new shifter and mod cdv installed. I can't imagine that had anything to do with the oil temps going up, as the shop never even opened the hood of my car for that. They did bleed the hydraulics for the cdv? It is driving me nuts, because even going WOT when the cars temps are around 220-230, doing a pull from 2-3 and just starting 4th will now push the cars temps to 250+ and they don't come down quickly, as it seems to take a good 8-10 minutes of low rpm driving to get it to decrease. This is with outside temps in the mid 50's. If I would do this previously the temps would never get that high and if they would have after multiple WOT pulls, they would drop fairly quickly after letting off the throttle. Another issue, not sure if it is related. I, just recently have started to hear and can somewhat feel a sort of whine or what sounds like something starting to wind or pump then goes away. This has started when the car is at idle after driving for a short period of time. It is strange as it is something new and it is driving me crazy as I don't really know what it is. It is not loud but if listen for it you can hear it and almost feel the slight vibration. It continually starts and stops at idle, and "no" it isn't the fan running, but maybe it is a bad temp sensor and it is not letting the fan run? Again it almost feels and sounds like a pump trying to pump but not doing so or something trying to start and failing? Bad water pump, oil cooler going bad, fuel pump, temp sensor, low fluid, etc? Anyways I have sacnned the car with the BT cable and no faults other than the typical fuel pump plausibility code which I have been getting forever. Any ideas, thoughts, similar experiences or suggestions (besides taking it to the dealer, as I didn't know if it was something that was a normal or easy DIY solve)? Thanks.

Maybe, it is just wierd that it started just recently and I have been getting the fp plausibility code forever? I still don't understand what the rise in oil temps would be from? Do oil coolers go bad, especially at 21000 miles?
No, I guess I could check all of the fluid levels. When the oil level gets a little low, the car tells you, so I am sure it isn't that? If they bled my line when installing the mod cdv and didn't put any more fluid back in, could that have anything to do with it?? Thanks.

I noticed the same thing on my car once and did this. Anyway check your fluids, coolant, oil level. I never wait tell my car tells me to add oil. I just add and monitor the level until its full. Also whens the last time the oil was changed, fresh oil will do wonders, usually lower temps, and a better running engine.
