transmission problems

i have a 2001 bmw 325i and my car is not going into reverse. i put transmission fluid in it but still no results. any other suggestions?

Move the lever to "R"?

it could be a transmission servo or the torque converter!

I had this problem once on my previous car which was NOT a bimmer (it was a Jeep GC), but the entire transmission had to be rebuilt. I don't know what was specifically broken in it, but I would imagine that you have a serious repair in store...
