clogged inner wheel well. open your hood and check where the hood supports are. i bet you have tons of leaves, check down the opening (take off the grate) its a common problem.

wow i bet thats exactly what it is, i can't believe i didn't think about that.. i park under trees all the time and try to remember to pull that shit out but i can't remember the last time i did... i think at this point its either that or a clogged sunroof drain.. left the car @ a different dealer will update tomorrow when i hear from them.. thanks everyone!

ok so they called me with an "update". i'll start off by saying i can't stand this dealership and the bullshit they try to pull.
she starts off the conversation telling me that they blew out both sunroof drains and that apparently was not the problem. she continues asking me if i have an alarm installed and I say yes the OEM alarm installed by my dealership @ home. she then starts telling me about how the wiring of that may be the issue coming through the firewall gromet.. I stopped her saying that wiring is NOT for the OEM alarm first of all, have you ever seen a BMW alarm installed like that? she said oh well i thought maybe it was aftermarket and i reminded her I said OEM five times already. ( don't think she knew what thatg meant) she then asked about the wiring that WAS there ( laser jammer) which is run from my front bumper and zip tied/connected to wire bundles running back to the driver side inner wheel well (mentioned above) and then run through the little rubber gromet/nipple that allowed access through the firewall into the passenger cabin. All that was done is the end was snipped off to allow wires to be run through. she proceeds to tell me that they have isolated the leak and it's coming from there, no question about it. So i started questioning her saying well where is the drain or line running from the inner tubing of that gromet that runs to the back seat etc to allow for that much transfer of water and yet again no answer from her. Then I asked her why if that were the case I had NO water dripping or entering from that area, and the electronics (CPU for laser jammer and internals for my concealed rV1) connected directly to those wires under my steering console had no moisture or water coming through there whatsoever. she did have the guts to tell me they could fix it for $300, since warranty would not cover the repair. I asked how they could repair it when she can't even explain how, what or where it is, and she said she would have to get back to me. so now i'm waiting for a call back from the service manager, AGAIN. very displease, just wanted to vent... any other ideas?

it's not that it's drilled, the end of the gromit was simply snipped to allow wires to run through. they just called back and said they fixed it by "repositioning the gromit" and are trying to charge me for a few hours to diagnose the problem.... going in to meet with the svc manager so we'll see
