Audio Question, Please help if you can
Hello guys,
I joined this forum a few weeks ago, Been spending ages going through the masses of info here, There is so much information here its unbelievable. Basicly, This is my first post here, I tried searching for the info i wanted but could not seen to find what i was looking for, Unless i overlooked it. I purchased a BMW 320D M'Sport just under a month ago and am looking to change all of the standard factory radio, I have the Professional radio with CD player fitted, Without the logic additional audio parts. I have £5k's worth of Alpine equipment that i am fitting into my new car, that i removed from my last vehicle, I have the radio adapter for when i remove the factory unit and all ready to go apart from being stuck on 1 thing. After looking through all the info here about amplifier locations, I checked my boot and dont have one. The standard sound system in the car sounds too good to be coming direct from the back of the factory unit and my system has only 2 speakers in the front doors and 2 in the rear shelf and still sound quite good. Someone told me that there is another small ampifier fitted somewhere in the car that drives these speakers, but not in the boot. and i would need an adapter for it to mane it give it an RCA input to use with my Alpine stuff Again i have scoured all over to try to see if i can find out if this is true and where it is located. I am totally lost here, I dont want to start this task with 50% of the info i need and create problems. I am hoping that maybe there is someone here that can possible help me out on this one. I would appreciate any help you can offer as i want to start the mammoth install this weekend I see that others have posted pictures, I would like to do the same once i have finished for you all to see. Thanks in advance |

Are you disconnecting your MID to do this? If so, how will you control other functionality in your car?

All i am intending to do is install a load of Alpine equipment and totally remove the standard radio.
As already stated in my first post, I have no amplifier in the boot, Its a big empty space with nothing there. I have checked with the dealership and it does not have the logic sound system in the car. I found the other day that i have speakers under the front seats, I now have a total of 6 speakers in the car. 2 in front, 2 in rear shelf and 2 under front seats, But cant find any amp anywhere. I have been told there is another one thats fitted behind the dashboard but have been unable to confirm this. I am stuck here, I dont want to start something thats going to go nasty.. Quote:
