Derrick: It would be nice if you would stop stealing my customer's pictures without permission, images and product descriptions that's all on your website. Be original

I bought some 8k HID bulbs off ebay before and needless to say they burned out in only a few months. Went with some Philips bulbs thereafter and no problems thus far

NOTE: Before I ordered the ebay ones, I pm'd one of the major lighting vendors (not F1) asking for a comparison. I was told there would be an in-depth review once he could find some cheap bulbs. (Ummm theyre on ebay) Then I even offered to do a comparison of the ebay brand X I purchased and their highly esteemed "MTEC." Never got a response. I'm assuming that a side by side comparison of the ebay el cheapos vs the MTEC el expensivos will show little (if any) difference. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a difference in longevity. However, the eBay seller is offering: - Free shipping - 10 day 100% return - 2 year replacement (which is a year better than the vendor I pm'd) $49 shipped vs $150. You decide. Edit: These are the ones I got:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT Last edited by FoShizzle; 12-21-2009 at 07:17 PM.. |

Unless the lighting vendor here is actually "MTECHPOWER" on ebay, he's using that sellers pictures too to advertise his bulbs. ![]() |

![]() MTECPOWER is a different ebay seller from wholesaledirectplus. The picture used by WDP is from another member off this forum with the GE 9000k bulbs installed. In real life, the GE 9k will appear blue with a greenish hue. It's not the actual bulbs the eBay merchant is selling. The D1S bulbs you see in the WDP ebay link uses a ceramic base to hold the HID capsule (capsule maker, unsure): ![]() wholesaledirectplus^ MTEC uses an OEM base made with a GE capsule: ![]() |

Very interesing info Mike. Wouldn't a ceramic base be the best material for high heat? What's better and how does that translate to overall performance?

Update: Got a PM back from the vendor over the weekend. I'm going to do a side-by-side comparison (ebay vs mtec) for them after the holidays. I'll post a link here when I make a new thread with pics.
Also, got my replacement of the bad bulb I received from the eBay seller and its good. Of note: I had to use a very small screwdriver to bend the (plug) pins on the bulb/igniter just a little because it didn't line up with the plug end correctly. The pins on the eBay bulb/igniter are a little thicker than oem, but that didn't cause any issues. In fact, it probably makes a better electrical contact on the connector. |

I got the eBay D1S 6000k bulbs. THey work perfectly fine, and i've had them in for 4 months.
However, it is clear that the Mtech and more reputable brands have significantly higher quality. |
