"Flat tire" issue

After dropping my buddyoff, I headed home. Only to be provoked by an empty parking lot with about 2" of fresh unplowed snow. I couldn't resist to slip and slide around for a little..

After about 3mins of doing figure 8's around two light poles

, I get a warning on my I-drive stating I have a flat tire. I immediately get out to check it out. All 4 tires seem to have full pressure, so I head home and check again once I get to my drive way. Same conclusion, all 4 tires appear to be at the recommended PSI.

What caused this?

tpms sensor froze? could have been knocked loose?

idk, you seem to have REALLY bad luck with your car so I woudln't even play around with it haha

Probably due to the cold weather. Fill 'em up with some air. You should be fine.

+1, this is what I am thinking. I-drive isnt throwing any more codes via the screen at me.

As far as the bad luck part, no kidding right?

+1 . Actually checking the pressure might tell you if its actually low or a 'false positive'. If all tires are fine pressure-wise, then reset the TPMS

turn the car off and restart... prob will go away.

Here is what is going on, the outside temp dropped where you are. The tire monitor system in you car works by measuring the circumference of the tire on the wheel. When the system detects a flat tire it alerts you because the tire is smaller when deflated and measures a smaller tire. When it got cold your tire changed shape and the system detected a small circumference and the system thought you had a flat. Vola...

I think it depends on build date. I have 07 model (built ~ Sept-Oct '06) that has regular TPMS, confirmed when I replaced my tires. I think the OP experienced loss of pressure due to the very cold from the snow.

Agreed. If you're on 07 or later (I forget the exact build dates) you don't have Flat Tire Monitor, which measures the rolling circumference, but rather you have TPMS, which measures the pressure inside the tires.
