From a local BMW Dealership is this a good deal?
2008 E92 335I Price: $34,774 Mileage: 17,063 Color: blk/blk/burl wood MT obviously ![]() Navigation Heated seats Sport package I'm not sure if premium or cold weather yet, but it has HS I don't care about the headlight washers and the ski bag. The only thing is it's not certified 100k warranty. I wonder if they could certify it? I think it's a good deal if the car is mint one owner no stories...what do you guys think? Thanks! Tom |

they will charge you another $1,500 - $2,000 to certify it if the car qualifies.
One of my local dealers has a similar car and they are asking $38,400

Sounds like a good deal. Must have the warranty though IMO

Pull the trigger.
![]() I have the premium package, and other than the leather being deducted, the rest of the ammenities aren't crucial to the whole 335i experience (although they are nice touches). Sports package is a must. Make sure to ask for warranty work done on it. You want to see if/how many hpfp failures it has had. I am one of the few lucky ones whose hpfp has never failed (07' 38k miles) |

Sounds fair to me. Warranty is of course important AND would've been nice, BUT I don't necessarily think it's a make or brake on this car. As long as the car checks out and has not had any major mechanical/electrical problems, you're still under warranty. And just b/c the car had an HPFP issue already, still doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it. It has been replaced and that pump is under warranty for A VERY LONG TIME. I mean, there are fanatics here who have had to replace their HPFP with less than 3K miles clocked. That doesn't mean that they got a lemon. Now, if the records show multiple failures, then sure, I'd probably pass.
I guess I'm in the minority here about not having to be CPO'd. I generally don't keep my car pass the NEW car warranty; hence, it is not as big of a deal for me. Now, if you intend to keep her past 2012 and/or over 50k miles, then definitely try to negotiate an extended warranty.

http://www.prestigebmw.com/VehicleDetails/566454413 Here's the link Nick. Looks pretty good to me I hope they can certify it at no addiotional cost. It is almost 2010 and it was probably built late 2007. Will see! |

I picked up my 08 6at, loaded, prem pack, sports pack, navi, everything....for $34,000 about 2 months ago. I told them no on the CPO (they wanted another $2k). I figure I still have 2-3 years warranty and 32k mileage. I typically don't keep my cars for more than 2-3 years so I, didn't need the CPO. Also, I only drive about 12k a year.
By the way...they were asking $39,000 for the car.

Make those bastards certify the car...that is the ONLY reason you should buy from a stealership anyways...They are a BMW dealer and therefore should certify the car, if they cannot certify the car ask them why, and tell them if they are not confidant certifying it than how can you be confidant purchasing it.

I never tend to keep cars past warranty. My justification.
