09 Carrera S. It beats an M3 anytime.

that it does, but it's also a $100k+ car. even a base carrera is 94k which is over 20k more than an m3 coupe. hard to argue with m3 performance and 20k in cash sitting in your bank account. that being said, if you can afford a carrera (either non-s or s) that would be my choice over the m3 as well.

it's the mid-cycle refresh of bmw's. the sedans got it for MY2009 and the coupes (incl. m3) will probably get it in march as a 2011 model.

Do you need a backseat and storage room? Ocassionally? Often? never?
Never - get the Porsche.
Occasionally/often - get the M3.
Daily - wait for the F10 5 series.

ya...love the new 5 series...but cant wait...lease expires soon.
I am starting to lean towards the Porsche....ive read a few reports on the new motor and its getting rave reviews...and the thing goes like stink now... 0-60 4.1sec....
but i tell ya....if i didnt take the M3 out for a drive last month...the porsche would be a slam dunk....the exhaust note on the m3 was intoxicating!!!
I have until the week of jan 4th to make a decision...cant get cars out of my mind....LOL

cheers,
This is an easier problem than the usual one, that being 335i vs 335xi. Porsche is a different animal than any BMW - if I were you, I would go for Porsche Carrera.

I came pretty close picking up the carrera....but the M3 was much more affordable.....
