335d Tools included?

Dumb question maybe. But I purchased a 2010 yesterday. In looking though the car I found the tool holder in the floor of the trunk in the right side. Lifted up a small piece of carpet. The only things I noticed in there was some sort of odd shapped looking round screw that does not fit it its place and a screwdriver. There are still two empty slots that I can not figure out if something is supposed to go there or not?.

AFAIK, they've removed the tools from all new cars, just like the flashlights.

that should be the tow hook in case you need to have your car towed by another car, as for my 08, I got that and a screwdriver, and maybe a wrench for manually closing the sunroof, but it wouldn't surprise me if they took the tools out. that said- dealers usually take tools from some cars to put in other cars that are missing them, especially when the new owner notices and says something

The slots are for tow hook, sun roof wrench, wrench, screwdriver, wheel lock key.

Wheel lock key should only be there if you have wheel locks (obviously). As for the other stuff, that's one of the areas where BMW has been cost cutting.

Plus the diesel fuel filler adaptor kit should be in there somewhere.

Chris, the Canadian 335d's don't seem to come with the adapter...either that, or it's somewhere else than the tool bay.

Sure doesn't compare to my E34's trunk lid-mounted full tool set...

Cheers

My 335d came with the adapter + gloves, tow hook and screwdriver.
Fortunately, I have had no need to use the adapter.

I didn't get even that stuff. Just the adapter for the gas tank, the gloves, and the tube in which to keep the adapter in.

Egative-nay on the loves-gay....nor on the adapter. I have my own set of fueling work gloves....hmmm.

No adapter, but I've never had to deal with a mis-nozzled RUG on a diesel pump, just the big truck nnozzles that an adapterould do nothing for...

My Dealer just informed me that on 2010 models the only Tools on the E90 included are the screwdriver and tow screw. Sunroof Wrench and other wrench no longer included only on Europe models. Oh well - I did ask him are only Euros the only ones to get their heads stuck in the sunroof?.

+1. I've inquired BMWNA, and here is their email response (of course the d should also have a nozzle adapter, but that's all for MY 2010):

Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding the Onboard tool kit. Congratulations on your BMW purchase

I was sorry to read of your concern about items missing from the tool kit. The tool kit currently only includes the screw driver and tow hook. Any additional items would need to be purchased through your parts department at an authorized BMW dealer.

If you have any further questions, please respond to this e-mail or contact the Customer Relations and Services Department at 1-800-831-1117, Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. Again, thank you for contacting BMW.

Sincerely,

Cody

Yep I did get the nozzle adapter as well. It fits or sits in the little tray next to the tool kit.

Yeah, its a little confusing. We just got a 2010 335d and there is no sun roof tool or dummy cap for the power outlet in the passenger foot well(haven't tried the outlet yet, think think its a power outlet, under the glove box and to the left). Every other car we've had w/ a sun roof came w/ a tool in case you have to close it manually. We never did, came close a few times as the cars got older...

Hey - can anyone provide me w/ the part number for the allen wrench tool used to manually open / close the sun roof? I checked w/ the parts people at the local dealer and he didn't know and the BMW plant in SC told me if it ever broke and needed to be closed to call roadside assist or hit the SOS button!! TKS... PS 2010 335d

I only got the wheel lock and the screw driver. I think a lot boy went around and has a really nice tool kit at home lol

I think I will go to the dealership and buy the $12 fuel adapter. I was at a Chevron the other week and the nozzle wasn't large enough to unlock the trap door. I had to stick my fingers in there and depress the catches and then fuelled up.
