TPMS 101 for noob
Hi all,
Please help & give me the complete low down on TPMS. I have a 07 320i & I have no clue if my car has TPMS or not. I understand the principal of TPMS but I don't know what it looks like, where its located, the nitty gritty bits of it. The warning light came on this morning out of the blue but all the pressures are correct. I changed my wheels but I didn't buy new sensors because frankly I don't know what they look like or where to find them. I would really appreciate some help guys. Thanks in advance |

Sounds like you do have it, but since you changed to wheels without the sensors the system is giving you an error. The sensors go inside the wheels where the valve stem is. You should really buy the TPM sensors for your new wheels or take them out of your old ones and put them in the new ones. There are a few vendors here that sell them or you can get them from a BMW dealer.

I ask the questions you're afraid to ask.

You need to assure correct tire pressure then reset the system. AFAIK, only the US uses the direct method that requires sensors in the wheels. |
