Exclamation Never trust USPS!

So just wanted to let you guys know that you never should trust USPS especially when ordering something international.

Here's my case:
I ordered new Quaife LSD from member of this forum turbosquid on 23rd of NOVEMBER with USPS Express Mail International. USPS tracking shows that it has left from US 25th of November, so I've now waited for my Quaife almost 6 weeks!

With USPS Express shipping it should have arrived to me within 5 days!
and oh yeah I ordered catless dp's and new turbos also from US with USPS Priority Mail International (which is slower) and both of them have already arrived but im still waiting for that LSD

Slowly I start to loose hope that it will arrive

I've tried to contact USPS with no results because there's no email adress etc. for them. aww... Ive contacted to Itella (which is the company who delivers all USPS post in Finland) but they said that they can't see any details of it before it arrives to Finland so it's not in Finland either.

Could someone please help me with this ****?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, the tracking information is only as reliable as the last post office employee that checked it in. Not all of the USPS distribution facilities will update shipping & there's nothing forcing them to do so (this I have been told several times from different branches here in the states).

Have you opened a claim yet?

What's your tracking #? I may be able to check on this end for you .....

I dont think so because if it was in customs they would have seen the package in Itella's system.

I've shipped packages form the US to Europe, Asia, Canada and Australia with USPS. If there is a problem it is probably not with the USPS but with customs or whoever the USPS contracts with in your country which is likely your countries postal system. What does suck is the USPS tracking system. I can almost bet your package is in customs but the USPS system does not know this or it hasn't been updated in their system. It's not their fault that customs is holding your package.

I've never had a problem with USPS. When something is lost, it's usually the sender's mistake by entering incorrect shipping information such as zip code or invalid address.

I hate usps. I shipped an iPhone out that I sold on eBay and the buyer only received The Iphone box in a ripped open package, surane wrapped closed. Customs form was missing and you could tell someone at the post office obviously ripped open the package, took the phone, removed the customs slip, and then surane wrapped it closed. The buyer opened it at the post office so I know it wasn't him. I will never ever use usps ever again, unless I have absoluetly have too. Dumb b*****es

Lived in Germany for 20 years and never once had an issue with USPS and as DenverJayhawk said, it's usually the senders fault when something does get lost. Hopefully you had insurance on your package.

Luckily I've insurance but it's valued only for 1000$ and the value of the LSD is 1500$. But it's better than nothing.

I agree, I ship tons of international packages with USPS, and the problem is almost 100% of the time on the receiving country's side. The OP's package left US customs in NY which means it is now in the hands of the Finland postal system. USPS is out of the picture at this point. I would say it is still in process of clearing Finland customs and the OP will get it soon.

The USPS gets a bad rep, but after shipping thousands of packages, I can't honestly say that they've lost a single one of them. The USPS and Royal Mail in the UK are the two best systems in the world by far.

only positive experience with USPS. Shipped from US to Switzerland without any problems. It is linked to the Swiss post, which is very reliable. This is probably also why

still sucks for you (whn) though!

You are not being fair. This could happen with UPS or Fedex just as easily. In fact I read lots of stories about theft by UPS employees and rarely about the USPS. I hope you insured it by the way. Also, USPS offers the most reliable way to ship which is Registered Mail. It is signed for by each person who touches the package and can be easily tracked I believe. It may take a little longer but it's very safe and relatively inexpensive.

I will be traveling to Helsinki & Turku in May -- sure hope you get your LSD by then! I love driving with my Quaife in the snow, it is a huge improvement in traction and handling.

There is no such thing as a good shipping company - especially when there is a need to go through customs.

UPS recently damaged my AE Quad exhaust that I bought off a member here. Quite amazing too - too damage the tip the way they did it had to of been one hell of a fall. I've tried hitting it with a hammer the hardest I could in an attempt to flatten it out and it did nothing.

I'm sure I've had a half dozen claims with each of the three biggies - Fedex, UPS, and USPS. They all blow...

USPS is a pain. I could sit here and type out dozens of experiences explaining how and why that establishment has pissed me off over the years. Maybe it's just me (or my local post office), but I much prefer UPS or FedEx these days.
