HID Fogs from HID Canada Installed (Lots of pics)

Bought 3000k Fog Kit from HID Canada. Just installed it.
I've got a headache from looking so much at the lights so ill try to keep it short.

Too tired after the installed. Hated every min of it. If I had to do it all over again I would take the bumper of. With the bumper there wasn't much space to work with and I needed allot of space to fit and tighten up those ballasts. Wrench and screw drivers wouldn't freaking fit.

May be im tired ... but I'm not really happy with the kit. I thought it would be brighter, more colorful.
It was hard to get the bulbs fit into the fog light.
Left side has lighter color then the right. (good thing i have the 3d bulb, ill put that in tomorrow) Which means again going under the car
At 1st lights were Greenish and Light Yellow (I didnt like em wanted dark yellow) then 30min later became darker yellow. ( i didnt like them again, wanted lighter color) Now they are kinds white yellow. (still dont like em lol)
Wat else i didnt like ? ummm.. installing them in the cold

I took the pics but it's really hard to tell how the lights look. I tried different shoot settings as well. Its weird cause they look more yellow on the ground than inside the fog light. Inside the fogs the light looks White with yellow spark.

I'll get day time pics tomorrow. Plus I will reevaluate.
BTW two other T.O members ordered the same kit 3000k H11/9006 for mtech. May be its my fog light itself that messes up the look and on Mtech fogs the hids will look better.

Anyhow enjoy the pics.

OEM vs HIDs

Looks pretty good, not overly yellow which I prefer.

Yea I am using the HID canada ballast for my low beams.

The RSX kit they have also has the bulb out warning eliminator (CANBUS) built into the ballast.

I am using there xenon lights for my fogs with another ballast.

Looks really good though.

I think it looks great. How long did it take you to install it? I am expecting my kit to arrive today.

Also bought from HID Canada but HAD to take them off on my 08 535 (E60 LCI) after 1 month use due to ongoing adaptive headlight error/malfunction casued by the kit.

For some strange reason, the fog light wiring is tied to the rest of the main headlight (similar to the X5) ... as the dealer shop foreman have found after making numerous trips to have the problem fixed. The main problem is attributed to the 1st five seconds of HID kit start each time, it is drawing higher than normal power as prescribed by the OEM and the computer was able to detect such variance.

The Support @ HID Canada is also helpful but they are also stumped on the technical issue.

it took me may be 3 hours +/- Only cause that stupid cover and space were pissing me off. I almost ripped it off the car from frustration. Also Minor mistakes here and there. After taking the covers off, all u need is 15min tops for each side.
If you plan to install it let me know. will be easier for you. iLL tell you which tools to use and where exactly and how to mount the ballast so you will not struggle like i did.

$125 (back in early Oct 09) ... net of some price promotion & coupon at the time. + $80 installed @ Bimmersport (Mississauga) - recommended by HID Canada

I think it's much higher now. Note: The kit comes with 3 bulbs (1 extra ... just in case)

I paid 177 shipped to my place. It's more expensive for 3000K bulbs. Plus they have recently updated the ballast. Service is fantastic. They respond to your questions within 30 minutes by email, even at 11:45pm.

I had 6.5k hid on my camry so i tried to put it in bmw fogs. Besides the errors and bulb zipping it looked pretty nice. I bought the 3000k for looks I had blue lights, this time wanted something different. Plus i read somewhere that it was proven yellow light doesnt help in foggy weather.

I live in maple but spend allot of time in RH cause most of my friends live there. Plus thats the only coin wash close to me.

ust got home, was busy the whole day. I love the lights during the day. Perfect color.

Fogs look a little more yellow then in the pics.

Little did I know that I will have a new mod today. Too bad I can`t keep it on.

Looks good....just the right amount of yellow (which really is much better in fog). Is it still greenish on start? That's usually the salts needing a bit of 'break-in' during the first use...and should settle down after use.

Yeah it's still greenish. At night it looks sweet without Xenons. Everything is yellow Stupid 4300k hids messed the look up when i turn them on. Most of the yellow glow on the ground goes away. May be i should get 3000k bulbs for my xenons ^^
