Engine light/reduced power
My engine light came on on Sunday night and reduced power/ engine manegement came up on the nav. screen. When I started the car it felt like it was choking. Rpm were going up and down by itself and is start shaking.
Did anybody had the same proble? Let me know what happened .It sucks because I can't drive. I made an apointment for service. |

VERY WEIRD, just got the car back from the dealer today too, surprised they didn't diagnose it. i'm almost 99% sure that it is the hpfp as it was triggered by 75%+ throttle, i now have a service engine soon light going to get it scanned and see what's going on. my sources point towards a 4th fuel pump for me!

i restarted the car and everything went back to normal, did some WOT runs and its running fine but the light is still present and their now seems to be a ticking sound, im pretty sure this is vanos/hpfp related.

Did this happen when you guys just started the car before warming up the engine?
The reason I ask is because, I got the engine light/reduce power the other morning when I stomped on the gas to merge into traffic before the engine was warmed up. After I shut off the engine and turned it back on, the error code was gone. After the car warmed up, I did a few WOT runs, and the car ran perfectly. So, not sure if that was your problem, but I think that's what happened to my car. Plus, no traction in this freezing cold weather FTL!

Same light and vibration happen to me 2 weeks ago on a start up in the morning. I let it run for 2 min and restarted the car and it went away. Dealer tested my hpfp and it had low/weak pressure. Got it replaced last week and the car runs normal again.
on my 4th pump btw with only 19k miles. |
