Both brake pad warning appear together after getting stuck in snow

Hi Folks

I went back to my 335d this evening after having parking it up this morning in the work car park. While parking I had a few traction issues to the extent where the car would effectively stuck in the place where it got left.

Went back tonight and started it to find that it had decided that both the front and rear pads needed replacing which seemed a little odd as they, from memory had 20+K miles left on them according to the service info on the idrive. Could this be related to it getting stuck this morning and is it worth reseting the warning and seeing if it comes back? Phone BMW on the way home and they have quoted me £350 all in to replace them all and offered to read the key for errors.

Just seems a bit strange but wondered if it was just likely to be bad luck?

Steve

The brake wear sensors will trigger early for safety. If you try to reset it will put a warning light on dash permanent untill you buy new sensors.

No way around this.

Mind you it may be some sort of electrical warning gremlin because of all your wheel spinning etc.

I got stuck in mine and it put the flat tyre warning light on....
