Using Call Waiting on iDrive-equipped E90 with phone cradle

I seem to cut people off if I use the phone button on the steering wheel to switch calls. I don't want to try using the phone buttons, since the phone is in the cradle (as it should be, according to BMW).

Anyone had success with Call Waiting, answering incoming calls and switching back and forth between calls? (I mean using the steering wheel or iDrive controls)

is this a motorola razr? and what provider do you use?
