Problem with my adaptive headlights HELP!!
So here's the story I bought angel ibrights v3.0 for my e90 335i. I took them to install at some place here in miami called MCP racing they mostly do BMW's so I thought everything would come out good. WRONG after installing the ibrights I go home and wash my car and water went into the headlight. I took it back the next day and they sealed whatever they left open in back of the headlight. I thought problem solved. WRONGG again now my right projector is pointing in and is not moving at all when i start the car neither is the left one. Should I take it to BMW or will they laugh in my face.

It's a common problem from inappropriate install of aftermarket angel eyes on the E90s. Basically that's what you get from taking your cars to "EXPERTS" who, in reality, had no idea how the headlight system on our car works. Two potential problems:
1. they just didn't tighten the cap up after installing the angel eyes. It takes A LOT of force to close it tight 2. they lost the rubber sealing ring when they pulled out the caps Either way you'll have an incompletely sealed headlight so that water can get in when you wash your car. The adpative module is located in the BASE of your headlight so it will collect all the water in your headlight and get shorted. That's why your adpative headlight is working funny. Put everything back together nicely and take it to your dealer. The other potential problem is that they forgot to straighten out your wheels when they do the install. That can cause the light to point in the wrong direction after installation.

I have lux 4.0s and haven't had any problems. Did they seal the angel eye box correctly? Did the box click once you covered the opening? I want to say no I'm pretty sure the angel eye location was not sealed properly.

I took it to a place I did not do it myself so I'm pretty sure that's what they did not seal I wish I would have done it myself now

It's very easy to check, turn the wheel out and remove the wheel well should take maybe 5 mins at the most. Once it's removed locate the angel eye housing (little black box) and make sure they reinstalled it correctly.

Will do that now. I just got back from BMW they told me they can't do anything about it since the angel eye bulb is not stock and that there's water in the projector mean someone opened up the headlight. Meaning the only way to fix this is go back to the morons that messed it up and tell them I need a new headlight

Reopening an old question. Is the circuit or whatever that controls the adaptive headlights in the large headlight box or in the small one with angel eyes? I'm having a similar problem. I could see if opening the whole headlight box and getting water in it caused it. But changing out the angel eye bulb you dont need to open up the regular headlight unit.

I just got the 2011 e90 330i EuroSpec, we dont have adaptive headlights as an option overhere. but I saw the bulbis already in place through another car broken headlight.
is there anyway it can be activated to work without having the complete system? |
