Whats the Skinny on Tuner Codes?

Ok so if I've thrown a tuner code in the past (2D18), and I cleared it with the BT tool am I in the clear?

I UTFSE and I keep getting conflicting answers. Some people claim that as long as you clear the codes you're good, while others say that you're still screwed because BMW can look back in your cars onboard history/it stores the codes where the BT tool cant access permanently.

Yet others say dont worry about it unless your engine spontaneously explodes BMW probably wont bother looking into the history or w/e.

I'm just worried because I'm starting to get the ol' wastegate rattle and if I need my turbos replaced I dont want any issues.

The code was thrown running a JB+ at 75% several months ago, and I cleared it and removed the tune at that time. I only ran the tune for a few weeks.

My car has the most recent software it was built in mid 09.

TL;DR can you still get your warranty canned even if you clear all your codes with the BT tool?

Clear it with the BT scan tool = gone for ever, or until you throw another one and have to clear it again. Bottom line, clear it before you go to the dealer and youre fine.

This, and take the tune out.
