AW E46 M3 - Latest Pics

Just a quick update for "Project AW" - here are a list of the mods ive completed on the car thus far;

Tracker Monitor
19” CSL alloys and PS2 tyres all round
Matt Black Kidneys Grills
Matt Black Side Grills
CF Bonnet Badge
CF Boot Badge
Silvertec Bulbs
LED Rear Lenses
Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers
Turner RTAB Limiter Kit
OEM RTAB’s
Turner Adjustable Top Mounts
Steering Wheel Re-Trimmed in Alacantara by Transcal
12mm Spacers, Bolts & Lock Nuts
Performance Friction Fast Road Pads all round
BMW OEM Front Discs
Refurbed Front Brake Caliper
Transfer of Private Plate

Total spend to date is in the region of £4,000 - which is a bit scary!! But ive definitely broken its back.

Dropped the car off with my very good friend Faizaan yesterday and he spent most of the day and this morning doing a stage one detail (see pic of him beavering away on his little stool, bless him!!). This mostly involved removing a huge amount of tar spots and some of the very fine swirl marks in the paint on certain panels. Have to say he has done a fantastic job - so a HUGE thank you to you matey

Incidentally, we are going to do a FULL and detailed report on a start to finish full car detail very soon. I know its been done before but thought it might be nice to do it from a complete amateurs point of view and also by someone who is not a pro detailer but just a real enthusiast. Will keep you posted.

So here are a few pics to show you where i am up to. Im happy with everything so far but still havent had a chance to properly test either the brakes nor the coilovers. Im hoping for a dry day sometime soon!! Notice ive now removed the Matt Black Kidneys and the smoked front indicator lenses - just felt it looked a little too chavvy for some reason - im considering having the matt black kidneys colour coded but leaving the slats black. Next step on the mod route will most likely be the CSL front bumper and CSL boot lid. And im STILL on the hunt for a reasonably priced 2nd hand Supersprint Race exhaust!!

I posted some interior shots on my last thread. Havent taken any new pics of interior as we didnt detail inside. In terms of spacers - they are 12mm all round and hun-centric - i got them from Evolve and they are from a company called TPR "Taper-Pro" - and they look awsome in a gun metal sort of finish - really cool!!

Great picture, really shows the stance to a tee:

The spacers really set it off nicely, and the overall look is OEM with some attitude.

Stunning car Steve, I'd be tempted to leave it as it is just now, with perhaps the exception of the exhaust.

The condition of the paintwork looks amazing - I know the car is Alpine White but it looks almost pearlescent in that shot - much like Wafik's new M3 'vert.
Looks stunning Steve, as ever you've done a great (and tasteful) mod job.

Are they the stock OEM facelift LED's?? Look a bit different, they look sick at night though.

Good job on the motor, was never in doubt tbh + CSL bumper and spoiler and you're done IMO.

Bet it looks the nuts in person

They bolt through (i think!!??) - sorry not entirely sure what you mean - but using my common sense they are exactly the same style and fitment as the Eibachs - so i assume they are bolt through??

Thanks Ian - i do hear what you are saying about leaving as is - but im just not fully 100% satisfied yet with the aesthetics. Cant wait to see pics of your new mods on your new motor

Thanks matey. To be honest the paintwork looks a little different due to me "fiddling" slightly in photoshop!!!

I think seeing her in the flesh gives the very best impression. And yes they are OEM LED's - again i think its the exposure on the picture that makes them look a little odd.

Some spacers bolt onto the hub then the wheel bolts to them. Just interested in what type you had

That car with a CSL front bumper and bootlid would look immense and would have serious presence.
Awesome car Steve keep up the good work
