Lets form a support group! Who is on the KASSEL?

I just found out today that I am on Kassel. It is scheduled to leave Port Bremerhaven Nov.,10th and arrive Port Hueneme,Oxnard Dec.,3.

I dropped my car off on Oct 19th and somewhat wondering why it took all of this time to load it on a boat that is leaving 3 weeks after my drop off? (totally being impatient in here BTW

)

So, who else is on the Kassel?

I guess it is a timing issue....and plus you are on the East Coast. I really wish that mine was already on its way.

I'm also on the Kassel. I thought I was goign to make the Procyon Leader, it left on the 2nd, but for whatever reason my car sat at the port forever, too. What takes so long to drive a car on a boat? I'm going to pick it up in cali and drive it up the coast to Seattle to break it in. Should be fun.

That should be a very fun trip! We should reunite the cars in Seattle and have a photoshoot?

From what I've been told, you have to call the importer. My importor, and perhaps others, is Ted L. Rausch Co. I am going to call them to get everything straight, but I don't think it's too difficult. Plus, you save the $600 to have it shipped to WA.

By $600 you mean the destination charge? I did not know this was even a posibility...... Please keep us informed.

I spoke with Rauch today and they said that the Kassel is supposed to get to Port Hueneme on the 22nd of Nov! That is way earlier than dmb website says. They said it should take about 3-4 days after the ship gets in for the car to clear customs, etc. They also said that they would store the car for free for 30 days if I needed them too, but there is no way I would ever need that. They do it all the time, so hopefully, it won't be too big of a hassle. They told me to call about 5 days out and they would schedule an appointment for me. Awesome. If that is all true I may be able to drive this sucker around the L.A. area during Thanksgiving. I won't be coming back to Seattle until Dec though.

Nov 22nd! That is awesome!

Now i even have more questions for you:

-Will your car go through VDC?
-Did you make pre-arrangements for this pick up with your dealer?
-Who will do all the paperwork (registration etc). All of that stuff for me is at the local dealership.....

Overall, the big question is: What exact arrangements you did with your dealer to be able to pull this off? Heck, If I can still do it too..... We can have a road trip back to Seattle!

i'm trying to locate kassel on the aislive website however i have not been seeing it anywhere on the bremerhaven port.... anyone know why that is? is it cuz it hasn't set sail yet?

I have the live version of aislive for about 1 more week so it's realtime.

the picture i put above is basically what you will see of bremerhaven when you go to aislive.com (unless you have the subscription of where you get up to the minute tracking).
