car went in yesterday......

to the dealers. Theres been a few threads on here about creaking front suspension and the judder from 1st gear. I get the judder now and again and the suspension made a noise that didnt sound like a strut compressing so the warranty runs out in september and thought I better get it in just too see what they say. Turns out all is fine, There is a plastic boot round the strut that makes the noise I could hear, the boy from the service department took me out in his 59 plate e90 with 1000 miles on the clock and it made exactly the same noise. He said they could grease them up to hide it but that would only attract shite to stick to them and it would come back. I told him as long as they were mechanically sound i was happy. The clutch issue as you all know is a software issue, Which he also offered to do but I wasnt fussed either. The new software raises the revs slightly in first but he said the car can feel like its running on when going round a roundabout in 2nd with the clutch out. I use the evolve switch on my motor anyway so knew the new software would get wiped. He said that I've just to give him a shout around july/august time and get the car booked in for a health check. They'll check the car over and get anything thats needs doing on the warranty they'll do before its expires which is decent of them.

Interesting. I've just had some sort of software change and ever since I get an occasional high revving at about 1200rpm with my foot of the throttle which stops when I put it in neutral and take my foot of the clutch. I've also had the 1st gear judder since new and that hasn't changed.

The tech did say exactly what you've got would happen mate and that's in the bulletin from BMW. The judder didn't really bother me was just worried incase the clutch was facked!
