Mike,
Got the okay from Terry and just wanted to update the JB3 2.0 and P3 Vent Gauge users on some good news... I tested out the firmware the enables the "on the fly" mapswitching feature on the P3 vent gauge, for Terry this morning to make sure it works before he released the firmware to everyone else to test out. Guys with the P3 Vent Gauge and JB3 2.0...you CAN now mapswitch on the fly using the gauge and switching to whichever map(s) you enter in the interface. If you have a laptop/netbook handy, you can see it work in the STATUS bar on the interface. Telling you guys first hand, it's a totally cool feature because you can designate whichever map (0-9) you want each of the 4 map options on the vent gauge to switch to. For example, mine is set @ Bc1 - map0, Bc2 - map3, Bc3 - Map5, Bc4 - Map7. Just remember to enable the boost control feature on the vent gauge and to connect the 2 pins from the gauge to slots 2 & 15 on the JB3 harness. I ran my wires from the same grommet in the ecu box as the usb so I didn't have extra wires floating in the engine bay, all the way to the gauge. So for anyone else who wants to test this out the new Firmware 2/17 and mapswitch using their P3 vent gauge, it is now available for download on n54tech. Remember you have to download both the JB3 2/17 firmware and the 2/17 interface, in order for the mapswitching to work. Have fun! I totally think this is an awesome feature. I know what maps "I" assigned to each "bc" function on the vent gauge so there is no second guessing what map i'm on.

This is HUGE for jb3 cusomers who are lucky enough to have this gauge.. On the fly mapswitching is what this tune really needs.

I dont think you could pick which map you wanted on the Gauge except for the bc2 - the others were fixed. Now you can pick whatever you want on any BC.

For instance. I have Map 0 on BC1, Map 3 on BC2, Map 5 on BC3, Map 7 on BC4. You can set any map to each of the positions to your liking., |

No, although with 2.0 its much easier to control boost with the throttle. Many auto customers like HotRod have perfected a 2nd gear launch as well for traction limited environments which is also a good option. BMS was working on a launch mode for track use and got side tracked, it will be interesting to see what they come up with when they get back on it.
