"resonated" downpipes

Dilemma: Want performance of Catless downpipes but want the sound of catted. I have four 3" (6" long) Magnaflow Resonators laying around from previous/ongoing projects and thought that using a couple to weld onto my DP's, where the cat's would otherwise be, might be a good blend between the two.

Has anybody tried this yet? Anyone with experience on exhaust function think this might tone it down without sacrificing the benefits of catless downpipes?

Thanks for the thoughts....

We can build a set with resonators in it. However, it would be cheaper and easier to weld them into the catback.

I added some resonators to my catback exhaust a little further down the track of where the DP meets the exhaust flange....It definitely dampen the drone and eliminated all of the rasp....I guess I could add another pair right near my mufflers in the rear and it would quiet down the exhaust further Here is the link to the thread

Yeah, after I added my downpipe-back Vishnu exhaust, I wasn't really happy with the drone so I added 12" resonators to the mid-pipes and its about as loud as I can handle on my long trips right now. I figure with the 3" downpipes it's just going to be too loud again.

catless are not as loud as you might think coupled with stock midpipes, only loud under cold start then the tone mellows out, gives a nice sound under WOT, but tame under normal driving conditions IMO..
