JB3 and main ecu sub connector

this is frustrating, everything was going so smooth. I have the small ecu sub connector in place. Seated perfectly. The main one however, is not sitting flush and the lock doesn't go in all the way. 45 minutes i've been playing with the main one and no luck. Somebody please tell me if it's suppose to sit flush with the small subconnector and why the hell it doesn't lock all the way. I've watched the step by step video and the guy did ever so smoothly as he lets the ecu fall back into the housing area. Me, I've been at since 5pm eastern time.

It's supposed to sit flush. The bigger connector can be tough - try to unclip the ECU and pull it out about an inch to get some room to work with.

I donno if your talking about the whole thing that holds the sub-connector or the sub-connectors it self but usually the sub-connector doesn't slide in correctly if one of the pins is not all the way in. Check all your pins and tug on them to see if their locked in place right ( dont tug to hard though).

Now if your talking about connecting the subconnectors back onto the ECU i have been their and done that and its hard the first couple of times. Try to move the rubber piece out of the way that's holds the cowl down and by pushing down on the piece and also pushing the the slider into simultaneously it should slip right in.

Yeah, what he said.

Once you do that slide the locking mechanism on partially and as you push down the connector slide the slider. If it's all lined up properly it'll come together with a firm push.

i did it the primitive way and lighty tapped it down with a small wrench and pushed the locking mechanism at the same time. Finally got in. Holy hell, my right hand is bloody with like 10 puncture wounds from the expose spikes.

UPDATE. I believe the default setting is map 3. I still have a grin from ear to ear right now. Turbo spools up at 1500, omg. If you guys didn't know, Terry sends new order with 2.0 beta. I'm just in disbelief at the power behind this thing. Smooth delivery, just smooth. Once that peddle is down, my heart just jumped and adrenaline pumped. Had my brother in the car with me and he said oh shit quite a few times.

Congrats!

Glad you got it installed!

Next time, just lift up the DME a little and it'll make it a lot easier to install, uninstall.

what frustrated me was, I took the entire ecu out to see what the problem was and couldn't identify it. Had the entire ecu out and trying to push the main harness in to no avail. Did what I did best. Use force.
