Leno blows. Howard is also so disconnected from reality that I've turned the corner on him now too. I grew bored of listening to his constantly whining and picking on his staff because he's bored. He's a millionaire socialite who does nothing but piss and moan every day... oh wait, not every day... 4 days a week with 10, yes 10 weeks of vacation.

Agree. Howard isn't the same as he was 10-15 years ago when I was listening to him in college. He lost his motivation. He just want to get the show over with each day and runs out of that office as fast as he can. He talk the talk, but doesn't walk the walk. He talked about going on Conan's last show, but we all know that he was never going to to. As with this American Idol thing, he said he would do it if they offer him $100m, but we all know when it comes down to it, he would find a reason to back out of it. He claimed that it was going to be a "Radio Revolution" when he moved to Sirius, but instead, he offered the opposite. But you know what, I'm still a fan. His show isn't what it used to be, but it's still better than anything else on the radio. I drive 60k miles per year, I have to listen to SOMETHING! |

He was never asked to do American Idol. It was a made up story to get him publicity and it worked. I listened to every minute of the show twice each day for 3 years until the merger. The second it went through I got the best of XM and jumped ship to O&A. They're real people who have worked real jobs and the show is much more accessible as a result. Howard completely isolates himself from his audience and is only interested in his own celebrity and connecting with others.
The lowest point was when he would talk about the increase in subscribers since he signed on. Sure, the initial million or so when it was announced were due to him but the ramp up over the next 2-3 years was entirely due to the fact that almost EVERY car that was sold came with a free subscription but he took credit for all of it! Infuriatingly delusional.

Love Stern. Like Letterman. Hate Leno. A common interest, such as cars, doesn't make Leno more admirable, credible or comical as a talk show host.

Listen to 100 and 101 all day at work. Howard and the other guys on those stations rock. Leno is a tool and Letterman is a shit-head for what he did. But I love Coco!
