Depends on your mods, without supporting mods you might accutally be losing power. Also, with map 5, make sure you are running atleast 93 octane. Since you said no other mods, you might want to just stick with map 3, check out BMS's website for requirements on each map.
Here in Cali, we only have 91 oct, so I daily drove with map 3 on version 1.4. Now that I have version 2.0 I run map 5 non stop. I have heard of people using map 5 (v1.4) with 91 octane as a dialy driver, but I didn't want to chance it.

NJ has 93 octane, so I would assume you would be fine with Map 5. Why not invest in an DCI though?

I have no other mods. On 1.4, I ran map5 with no problems - I scanned the car several times. Nothing.
When I upgraded to 2.0, map 5 seemed a bit disappointing - quick but something didn't seem right. Went back to map 3 and the car seems much better. I think 2.0 map 5 was too much. Maybe someone more knowledgeble than I can chime in about such things. Now...this is all butt-dyno so I may be wrong. Bottom line is that I ran 1.4 map 5 for months with no codes thrown. Always on Shell V Power 93 here in Maryland.

When I run my JB3 2.0, I run map5 constantly with no other mods. FL has 93 octane. I've had one limp mode, but it seemed like a fluke. I've got about 400mi on the JB3 2.0 since I got it... all map5.
WCM3, because installing a DCI means one more thing to uninstall when you goto the dealership. Too much hassle.

I'm running map 7 with a drop in filter and 93 octane, my car just runs better on it.

I'm in Maryland and just installed JB3 2.0 at the beginning of the week. I've got DCI and always run 93 octane. Ran Map 3 for the first two days and been running Map 5 the last two. They are both big improvements over stock. Love the Map 5 and will continue running it so long as things are ok with it.

so 93=Map 5
100=7+8 is that correct?

so for us drivers in So Cal with 91 octane and DCI what map is appropriate? what map if i added DPs? is there a table/matrix that shows what the proper map is for all of the different configurations for the more popular octanes (primarily 91 and 93).
