Biggest Areas to Improve on Performance

Hey I have a 2009 e92 and am going to be having about 3k extra cash soon was wondering what would be the best areas to put it towards to improve my cars performance and reaction time. Everyone I have talked to thus far has said to do a chip, but I am not really sure how much is a fair price for it or if there is anything better to do.

Thank you.

#1 Tires (if you have runflats)
#2 Tune - plug and plays FTW
#3 Downpipes
#4 FMIC
#5 Intake
#6 Exhaust

You can get most of that for the $3k if you do the installs yourself. Don't just blindly beleive in every vendor, they are trying to sell their product. Along with that, everyone is going to tell you their "insert mod here" is the best. Do your research and buy which mods work best for you.

Just remember that BMW dealerships are wise and will look your car over for evidence of mods if you are in there for any kind of engine warranty work. With HPFP prone to failure, you may be in there soomer than you think.

With that in mind, downpipes and FMIC are going to be real tough to yank out on short notice. A chip and an intake can be removed relatively quickly, dealers will not flag you for tires and exhaust.

So, that being said, this is how I would do it...

1. Tune
2. Intake
3. Exhaust
4. FMIC
5. Downpipes
6. Meth

Tires can go anywhere in the list.

Tune 600-1000
Intake 100-1000
Catless DPs 198-700
FMIC 700-1000
Exhaust 309-1500
Meth kit 300-500
Tires ???

All the prices denotes overall price ranges that you can spend, so do a search and find out what prices, brand name, and what quality are you looking for! You have 3 grand to spend so spend it wisely! Another way to spend and save is buy used items from members on this forum that have good itrader status....
