Not surprised at seeing these asshole drivers. I assume this is on the section from Tuen Mun to Tsuen Wan or vice versa? I see this type of behaviour almost everyday on the highway. Some guy wants to cut off the other guy, but the other guy won't let him. Sometimes I wonder whether we are importing the "Mainland" style of driving into Hong Kong. You know, the complete disregard for other road users in Hong Kong. A lack of consideration and courtesy. The police should be cracking down on these road behaviours rather then handing out speeding tickets for going 0.5 km over the limit.

What I saw on the video is Golf cut out without any signal then 2 lanes become 3 lanes suddenly.

If BMW let it go, then accident could be avoided.

Both drivers think they are speedracers and both of them should take the blame and hopefully the police will slap them with a heavy fine and licence suspension.

At first I thought the BMW did it on purpose...but now I'm starting to think the BMW had no clue the Golf was there and was just trying to do an early left lane shift on the bus....I don't see why he'd want to ruin his BMW to teach a lesson.

Agreed that it is a possible scenario. The Golf is in blind spot of the mirror, if the BMW driver didn't shoulder check in cutting lane, then the outcome you will see in the video.

In the video, it looked like the BMW was not that agressive. The driver seemed even didn't know that he had hit the Golf, and had no intention of slowing down after the accident.

Yeah ... looks as though the BMW never saw the Golf which was in his blindspot at the time.

It really looks as though its the Golf's fault for trying to force himself into the fast lane when it was already loaded with cars.

But I have to say that the BMW driver did the right thing afterwards by not stopping abruptly on the highway and decided to gradually pull over to the shoulder. This was done within 5 seconds of the accident and I think its appropriate.

Stopping abruptly may have caused another accident.

not that this is a bmw forum and im helping the bmw guy but seriously the golf is just fked dumb. first of all it doesnt seem like he had space to cut to that lane so he shldve just wait till the bmw was gone and cut behind him. secondly wtf is he thinking cutting half the lane before thinking whether he had space? at one moment i bet hes thinking "uhoh im stuck in between 2 lanes"
