SEATTLE, Wash. --
The Washington State Patrol says former “American Idol” star Sanjaya Malakar was caught speeding 110 mph on Interstate 405 outside of Seattle at Kirkland.

He was stopped about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and given a $411 ticket.

Trooper Dan MacDonald told The Seattle Times there was no one else on the freeway at the time so Malakar does not face a reckless endangerment charge.

The 20-year-old singer from Federal Way gained fame four years ago on the “American Idol” talent show.

What the fuck, the patrolman can determine if it was reckless driving or not? ... bullshit, so pretty much they just hand out tickets if they feel like it and throw people in jail and give them a record if they feel like it. My friend got pulled over for going 90 had to face reckless driving charges.. Nobody on the freeway, I guess we gotta get on American Idol to get away with reckless driving.

really.....don't speed unless you got some kind of protection. ie. Radar detector/jammer/Veil etc

if you have modification like me, you are pretty much outta luck though...
when you are going 100+mph, by the time you noticed your radar detector goes crazy, officers probably noticed u too...
my friend lives right next to i-405 and time to time i hear cars racing by and literally i can hear them miles away because of their modification screaming @ WOT... well before your radar detector notice anything...

best way is not to speed at all. if that's hard, at least at night time since way more patrol officers out there and your visibility cut down to less than half...
otherwise, you are asking for it and u better get yourself some good legal council for the tickets... like myself
