KN filters for aussie 325i / N52 engine

I am looking at replacing my stock air filter with the KN one.

The stock 325i filter is round orangy coloured paper filter, to my knowledge KN does not have a replacement filter. Or do they?

I know you can get 325i flat panel filters designed for the US e90 models, does anyone know of these are compatable with the Aussie models/air boxes?

check out pelicanparts.com
I picked up a K&N for my e46 from there for less than the dealer here wanted to charge me for the OEM (Mann/ Mahle) ones. Here's a link to the K&N one for an e90 325i http://www.pelicanparts.com/euro/cat...BASflt_pg1.htm
If you order a few things shipping turns out to be cheap as chips.

One word of warning though, the K&N filters are a lifetime oiled filter, i.e. you clean & re-oil it when you service your car. If you over oil it you risk messing up your MAF which isn't a cheap part to replace.

The Aussie and US e90 325i air intake boxes are different. I know that there are two types of OEM filters for 325is - a small round one (normally found in Euro and Aussie 325s) and a triangular panel one (maybe US specific?).

Does anyone know if the air boxes are fundamentally different and require different filters or can the filters be interchanged - ie. instead of the OEM small round one found in my 325i can I slap on the KN flat panel filter?

Any issues with fit/sealing etc.?

Just to further explain my previous question, this is the type of intake box on my 325i

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=249020

Can I fit a flat panel KN filter into it? Has anyone done it?

thanks

OK, it looks like it's the E-2022 that you'd need. http://www.knfilters.com/air_filter/bmw_325.aspx
Your best bet may be buying from the UK as they'd be more likely to stock it since it's a Non-US cars item.
