CIC Nav maps updated before new-car delivery?
If you buy/lease a new car with an older CIC Tele Atlas map installed, will the dealer do a free update before delivery to customer?

unfortunately no.. not automatically; it will require a enable code(with a part #) for the process.. BMW has made it specific that this is not a warranty matter.
but you can try to get them to throw it in the deal for you.. if they're nice |

I know their policy, but I thought perhaps that only applied to cars that were already sold.
Car was produced in 11/09. New maps came out last month. A lot of road construction in my area recently, so wanted newer maps.. Prob just wait a year then and pay the $199. |

That expectation was not without precedence - I'd noticed a Navteq map release with hwy updates months before their construction was complete. The changes I'm looking for are related to interstate roads and ramps.
Turns out the dealer did the free update when I asked and explained. |
