I wrapped mine with matte black vinyl from Karbonwerke (4" wide) without removing the trim and without a heat gun or a hair dryer. Just work slowly and be patient. I didn't even use a razor blade - just used an old credit card. I had to use three different pieces to wrap the curved upper window trim.

Close ups please of the window trim. Oh, and how did you cut the vinyl then? Razor blade or scissors?

I just cut it into long strips with scissors before sticking it to the trim. Once it was stuck and contoured to the trim, I used the credit card to cut it behind the trim and inside the door jambs. It'll make more sense when you actually do it. It took me 3-4 hours to do everything because I took my time and wanted it to be perfect. There were a few bubbles and creases but they went away on their own after a while.

Below are the pictures from immediately (a few minutes) after I applied the vinyl so you can still see some of the creases and overlaps. Surprisingly, they kind of went away after a while and are barely noticeable now.

All in all, it was a fun project and I enjoyed it.

honestly the post above looks good far away but even remotely close it does not look good at all since you can see the different pieces

the trim is easy to remove so i recommend just taking the extra step and removing it

the top is just held in by clips. open up your doors, grab behind the trim and pull towards you. takes a little strength but it will pop out and just keep popping it out as you move back.

blow dryer will work just fine if you dont have a heat gun. just start and when the trim starts to curve blow dry the vinyl so it gets stretchy and stretch while you curve around. (its a lot easier if you have a friend to hold the dryer)

as for the bottom, i have an e92 so it just slides out. if its too difficult just wrap it with it on the car since its just a straight piece.

thanks man. i have an e92 as well so i figured the only tricky part for us is the curvy part towards the back. i will get started on this as soon as the weather in NY clears up and i will keep you guys posted.
