I know what you're talking about...those Lexus IS license plate lights are HOT. Where can I get lights like that for my 335i? Only Bimmian? And if so, should I use the LEDs or Xenons? Do they look like the Lexus ones..nice and bright?
I don't think ANYONE has answered the question: WHERE DO WE BUY LED LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS FOR THE 2007 335i? Thanks guys! |

there's been a lot of threads about this. the bimmian lights are white, but they're not as bright as the lexus IS. To get to look of the IS you need to use LEDs. You can get them many places including ebay. Do a search on the forum to get ideas. The catch is, if you use LEDs, you're going to get an error because LEDs draw far less power than regular halogen bulbs (what the OEM and Bimmian are). To get rid of the error, you must use a resistor to trick the car into thinking that there's a normal bulb in there. The bad thing is, resistors can get really hot, so you have to be careful with this. Another option to trick the car is to directly wire the license plate lights into the taillights. A member has done it already and says it works fine. Here's the DIY for the direct wire http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...1&postcount=23
Also, here's an idea of what LED to buy http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1pc-3...2517QQtcZphoto All of this info has been previously posted on the forum. Hope this helps someone- if you need more info, just do a simple search, it's been talked about alot.

uh no. this is only so that the license plate lights won't get an error. I don't think this has anything to do with using led's for the taillights themselves. check the link for a visual.

why would anyone want to make their license plate easier to see from a longer distance like if a cop was driving with u in traffic and u forgot to signal they could nail u from either further, and those picture takers at stop lights would definitely nail u

New board sponsor here, like markis64 mentioned there is no need to make it easier to read your plates from a distance. We filter out the yellow spectrum on ours, looks cleaner via a whiter light. Its a regular OEM style replacement bulb, not LED.
www.hoen-usa.com/licenseplate.htm For high end LED's check out ledtronics - for those who prefer that look they are a good albeit pricey option. |

Dude, that's awesome lights!! Where can I buy and how much? Where in hk? I can probably get somebody to get it for me. Any problems with it? Melting? (some people installed aftermarket and then parts melt)
