Hi -
For those of you with this hood, did you install the Lift Cylinders (the hydraulic lift hinges that hold it up, see image below #13) or do you have to prop it up with something like a broomstick (low end) or use a hood prop to have it stay open? The shop where I had the hood painted and installed didn't put the Lift Cylinders back because they felt adding them back would cause some twisting cause the hood is so light in weight. Let me know if it'd be safe to put them in or if you guys just prop it up when you need to get to the engine. Thanks. ![]() ![]()

I put my OEM ones on, no problem so far (touch wood), although my hood shock is 3 years old now, so it's not as "strong" as it used to.

Shop really didn't want to install - but I'm thinking of using them. If you could do a big favor for me, can you (or anyone seeing this) take a pic of how you attached them to the hood?

Hey Nick, is there a specific M3 model year's hood lift that will work or is it the '09+ M3's hood hood lift you'd recommend?

I prop my hood, the installers of my hood told me that they couldn't get it to fit right, so they left them off. No biggie, I keep an umbrella in my trunk that's a prefect hood prop.
