Service
Am booked in at a scothall service centre for my first service since owning the car. Wasn't impressed with initial contact but open minded. Have never used a dealer before but as its still in warranty i wanted to give them a go first.
Will post of outcome but £140 odd for a check service i think is a bit much isnt it? I wasnt given any details of what theyd do? |

Depends what is due, check the service indicator but if it is 'just' an oil change it is about right. Right for BMW that is. You can bring the price down by supplying your own oil.

Car returned and least they valeted it! No £142 for them to do a vehicle check? Had them inspect clicking from front but they couldn't find anything. Anyway what's done is done. Thanks

warranty advice
yeh think that was there minimum charge for 1 hours labour and i imagine it took them all of 15 minutes!
Just a quick one my next service (oil i think) is due after my warranty runs out. Is there any advice on doing anything before this time? Don't think ill do enough miles for it to be "due" on the computer before the warranty end date. thanks, |

You can have things done early if you like.
That is a problem with variable servicing, things come up at different times but its very expensive to get them all done separately, so to save labour you end up having things done early to save trips to the dealers. For example, with your inspection you could have an early oil change / filter / micro filter done too, this would avoid paying the minimum 1 h. Depends how 'early' it is. |
