I'm not a fan of the 350Z, the 370Z is a little better but the M3 is a gorgeous ride, still looks great despite the age imo.

I like both cars and if your budget oriented you should seriously consider the Z. Cheap mods and LOTS of them.

I would suggest driving both and letting the "feel" be the final decision maker. Check insurance for rates as well.

350Z is weak.
block is mad unreliable, can't even supercharge it without proper forged internals which will run you a lot of $ in the long-run.

Having owned a 350Z I can say I would go for that.
Look at all the guys who say they have owned one, they absolutely loved the car! That is because it is an amazing car for the money! It allows you to really feel the road and the car is so nimble!
Someone mentioned it not performing at the track.... drag or autox and more than likely it was the driver not performing, not the car!
I have a friend with a single turbo 350Z running very modest at about 9lbs boost and still has 450whp. The internals are only garbage if you try and boost above 12lbs, if you stay below this it will last a while! He runs the fastest lap times out of hundreds of cars at the local autox park.
I understand it is a Nissan, but I have found those who have never driven one will hate, those who have absolutely love the car.
In all seriousness go drive one guys they are a blast!

M3 isnt gonna run you on maintainence as bad as many say, many people misconstrue the issue.

E46 M3 is a well built vehicle, keep up with changing fluids and filters and you should be fine. A meticulous upkeep is needed for a bimmer.

That said, the Nissan will give you more leeway when it comes to maintainence. its more of a set it and forget it vehicle, more leanient with fluid changes, and reliability is great.

Personally, M3 because its more practical and the car is a freakin legend.

Maintanance is a question with M3. I still pick it over 350z any time. Dont forget you can alway get a nice turbo for for e46m too. 1000hp sounds good

once again, i say m3...coming from a guy who's bro has a 350. If you are going to worry about money, the m3 is not the car.

The E46 M3 is the better performing car, I’ve driven both.
And the E46 M3’s engine and characteristics far surpass the 350z.
The only thing I liked about the 350z was the suspension but that can be easily fixed with a set of coil-overs on the E46 M3.
I don't know about you, but the 350z is not a car to taken serious with. It's more like an expensive ricer's car.

This is class, performance and style all in one. If your driving this car in Vancouver, you will have no problems in terms of maintence.
The engine can easily do 300,000KM, and the tranny is strong. The only thing you'll be replacing is the clutch.

Both the M3 and the 350z have good handling and power, and both of them have enough parts out to be modded to your taste anyway. The 350z will be cheaper to build, but to be honest I prefer the S54 over the VQ35.

OR, if you want a really cheap factory turbo car with a extremely strong block, buy a Z32 300zx. The VG30DETT is extremely reliable as long as you keep all the sensors and wiring harness in good order, and there are quite a few over 600whp on stock internals.

SPL Parts has some awesome suspension packages for both cars if you are serious about tracking.

Are you serious? Elaborate on how the 350z is an "expensive ricer's car".
