335d went a "Drifting" today

Took my 335d on a drifting taster session today at Oulton Park........... with MSV

BRILLIANT - span it a couple of times............. but got it moving in several corners too - left some nice "black" lines!!!

I got one of the instructors to sit in with me - which was very helpful........ "bit more gas" "bit more lock" etc..........

The taster session is squeezed in the dinnertime slot between the guys doing at for 2 hours in morning and 2 hours in afternoon..............

The only downside, was that after really enjoying it, they came and said i could stay for the full afternoon for £80 as someones car had popped its Rad.

............ had to be home to pick up the kids though!

no, if i'd been there all day - then most probably..........

But the taster session is easy going on tyres- and the surface of the track is designed to be very smooth - and they wet it

So you can practice at lower speeds in a more controlled manner..........

Awesome - there's another one at Oulton on 3rd July.

Might see if I can get the pass stamped for a day out....

Test out the Quaife in its natural environment!!

Can't do the 3rd July - missus away and I'm baby sitting.

The next one is 7th August. Will check and let you know.

I think we should get a day out organised.

What better than a bunch of RWD BMW's for a drift day!!!

Went drifting at Oulton park on saturday with Max (ibanezking). And it rained a lot.

Great day out, but my drifting skills are pretty limited to 180 or 360deg spins, usually within 5 yards of the start!

In my case the odd 'lucky' maintained slide usually ended with a trip on the grass. Fear of armco and trees put paid to too much daring-do.

I'll get some video up on youtube - there's some good drifts from a couple of Jap R34's and an old evo4, plus a guy in a E36 M3 who was very good! I missed a shot of the Boxter with the roof down that went off road into a huge muddy puddle, most of which ended up inside the car!!

Max took some great snaps, whether he wants to embarass us by putting them up is his call

yes all 335d's are auto

just turn DSC off and put it in sports position and keep it in first or second gear..............

Its not a "natural" drift car - but plenty fun can be had!!!
