Best SSK for the money?

Q1. Who makes the best short shift kit for a decent price?
Q2. What vendor has the SSK that you recommend?

Comparison: Tischer has the BMW performance kit w/ knob for $190

Before I pull the trigger who makes the best kit and what vendors here have good prices? I've been searching through the forums and haven't been able to narrow down what is popular here. My friend has the UUC SSK and loves it, but last time I looked it was $$$.

Thanks!

I was going to order the BMW SSK until I did a lot of research and found that the UUC EVO 3 + DSSR is the way to go and will be ordering it this weekend. It's definitely more money but I only want to do it once. Right now they are giving 75 bucks off when you add the DSSR to the order.

I'm sure you would be happy with the BMW SSK but I feel (after research) the UUC is a better item.

A BMW Performance SSK and matching shift knob for $190 is a good deal if you think about it.

Plus, free ground shipping from TischerBMW.. can't go wrong with that

I have the UUC Evo3. It's one of my favorite mods, well worth the money. The DSSR is another story though. If we ever have a local ATL meet, you can try it out.

I tried it out! Either Dalton or Mike had one and it was crazy... Plus with Dalton's short clutch pedal mod, it was insane.

I was actually scared... It was so ridiculously short, lol.

Damn $410 bucks from UUC without a knob, so throw an extra $60 for the knob!!!

With shipping I'm looking at $500 just to have shorter throws, I know, I know it's a sweet throw, but dang! That puts a big dent into my mod bank.

I just bought the B&M shifter from HPAutowerks. Seems to be a pretty similar design to UUC for much cheaper. If I want to add the DSSR later, I still can. Got the B&M for $250 shipped. Can't wait to feel the shorter throws.

Oh, and I also ordered the Mtech shift knob/boot/ebrake knob from Tisher and got free shipping.

Problem with the B&M is it's not made specifically for the 335i. They use it for a bunch of different models and while yes it has shorter throws, it doesn't sit centered and looks a little funky.

Possible noob question, but does any shifter that is designed for the 335i work for the 328i.

If I had 328, I would just get the bmw one. It's cheaper and it shortens the throws. 335 is a different story. The 335 bmw kit is the same price as the uuc, so might as well get the uuc.
I also wouldn't get the whole performance SSK, just the arm.

The UUC is definitely the way to go. The BMW version seems to sit off center to some. UUC has a lot of happy customers out there. Their quality is second to none. It is designed specifically for the 335. It have adjustable height. UUC just hit one out of the park with their shifter.

Hey Former - with the adjustable height, can you set it to be lower than the factory shifter? By how much?

Yes, I believe you can do it the same factory height, or a bit lower.

Actually, I just bought the BMW performance shift knob/boot and ebrake knob. The shift knob is almost an inch shorter than the stock piece and even just that is a noticible difference in shift feel. Throws are still long, but seem shorter because of less leverage (length).
