Hand Vacuum for car?
Hey guys, to official remove the necesity of going to the car wash all together, I need some form of vacumming in my vehicle. I'm thinking about just getting a hand vac and was curious how much strength (voltage) and which brands you would recomend?
Also, I'm looking for one that doesn't need to be mounted and is under $30 ![]() |

![]() ![]() on a scale of 1 to 5, i would give it a 4. i didn't pay as much as this for it because i bought it 5 years ago and its still going strong. i have never had any problems with it but i guess it would be better if it had a little more power.

I searched long and hard for a good cordless vacuum, in the end I was not impressed with any. If I was in the US I would buy this in a second:
http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS...d+Wet-Dry+Vacs It's $69, but the guys at Autopia love it, which means it's probably pretty badass. |

Thank you guys for the responses... I looked into both, but they are just too expensive for me right now with ALLLLL the other detailing equipment I was buying. Any other thoughts?

I use a 1 gallon ShopVac; it's very portable, has attachments and only cost me about 25 - 30 bucks. This is a small version of a full-scale ShopVac but has no wheels, etc.
It has a loop handle on the top and only weighs about five pounds so it's easy to get it close to your work. |

I take my Dyson out to the car and use the hose attachments. More powerful than the shop-vac I have and better at picking up car sized dirt.

why not just use a home vacuum? almost all of them now have a long host. plus in general, they have more sucking power compare to those hand vacuums. I use it all the time and love it, one less item to buy, and it's not like we vacuum the weekly or so. I clean inside of my car once a month only, since I am the only driver.

cordless vac just doesn't seem to ever have enough "juice"...suction is poor......you never want to use a convertor on your car to hook up a vac....fuses can easily blow.

I got one from my wife for Christmas. She knows how neurotic I am about keeping my car clean. The suction isn't nearly as strong as the wet/dry shop vac I have, but it works well enough for cleaning the car interior and is a lot easier to maneuver around.
