LUX H8 vs. BMW OEM LED AE

Attended the Tidewater are BMW CCA chapter picnic. Some really nice people and great cars - not the least of which was this brand new 335is. Took a picture of my '07 w/ LUX H8 next to the 335is for those of you who are interested to see the difference. The OEM AE seem to be a little more uniform and well defined, but looked much more purple in person. You can see in the pics that both versions look pretty much the same color, but this was definitely not the case in person - even my wife could see the difference!

Enjoy

So you prefer the H8? Thanks for the info... I was looking into the new AE as a retrofit but now I might just go with LUX...

Night time pics would be amazing if you can get that guy to take his 335is for a night ride

I prefer the H8 because it matches the OEM HID headlights almost exactly. Don't know if the new OEM LED AE would be possible as a retrofit, there has been a lot of speculation that it is a new design and wouldn't be possible. Not speaking from experience just the "word on the street."

plus the OEM with all the needed parts are probably a lot more expensive than the Lux. I just installed my Lux H8's and LOVE them

The new E92 LCI angels has been completely redesigned so a retrofit is not possible. Lux H8 would be your best bet

I'm new to BMW and just got 2010 328i with basic stock lights. To say that I'm unhappy with the lights, it would be an understatement. After 8 years with Acura where I haven’t had to worry about the lights, I'm somewhat disappointed. However, there is reason why I switched to BMW. I'm not comparing the cars, rather looking for a solution to my problem, i.e. how to upgrade my headlights? I went though many treads at this forum and got confused even more before I started.

I would appreciate if someone can provide options that available for my car, which is E90 LCI model in terms of how to improve the stock lights, i.e Hologens, Xeons, HID, LEDs, etc.

Simple question: what about the brightness of the Lux compared to the stock LED E90 Lci in DRL mode ? because in theses pics the Lci is with the parking lamps not DRL

Thx

Thanks for the pics! We needed them. Looks like they're not that different after all...some folks on here talk about them like the diff is night/day.

Ok, hate to be a downer, but on the LUX, doesn't the light from the ring light up the inner light housing? It appears it does, whereas the OEM AEs do not.

Yes, because E92 got bulb in inner circle which gives light for both circles..
