JB3 Upgrade Board Teaser!
Hey guys,
Just a little teaser here for you guys. BMS is working on a new very advanced board for their N55 Stage 3 tuning and has decided to make it N54 compatible! The time frame is likely on the order of 3-4 months before it's ready for public testing but this is exciting stuff and will be a nice leap forward beyond any of the piggyback hardware available today. BMS has said for the N54 they will only make it available to existing JB3 owners and it will be handled similar to how the G3 upgrade was done. Those that want features more advanced than what the JB3 offers today will finally have a BMS upgrade path. I have no idea on pricing, etc, as a lot of things are still to be finalized but I'll update you guys when I know more. Just a few teaser photos. On the diagram they tell me they cropped off a few of the secret components as to not ruin any surprises. I'll add more as I get them. ------------- UPDATE The BMS crew is hard at work on firmware development and sent over this video of the CPS offsetting testing in action. While they wait for the new PCB to come in they're using a development/test board so no time is wasted. It's amazing how small these processors have gotten in recent years. This one is actually one or two steps lower than the model being used on the new board but is still smaller than a finger nail and more than 20x faster than the JB3 processor! . . Follow the leader for a few years has made someone a multi-millionaire. Seems like yesterday (May 2007) when Terry's tune, called the "Terry Tuner" was sold for only $2. Ahh, the start of many a tuner war:

But you must admit that it is a natural progression in product improvement, and it takes more time to develop hardware and software in house (correct me if I am wrong). Give credit where credit is due. |

That is a bold statement which will most likely get this to be a tuner war... could have simply stated that this is an upgrade... i bet Shiv will now respond as a result... i dont have either the JB3 or the PROcede...

Anyway this new board goes beyond what is available today. I think even fans of other systems will be impressed with some of the features. And I love how BMS balances adding new technology and rewarding their existing customers rather than just forcing them to buy a whole new system if they want the features. Mike |

As a business school graduate, id like to mention in all fairness to BMS, they took advantage of what needed to be done in order to get started. And because of it, they now offer us ( the customers vishnu cares so much about ) a different solution. According to me, thats simply business. Millions of dollars go into research and development each year in order for firms to stay ahead of the curve. Copy-catting should be expected if anything. Its not like the concept fell from the sky .... I do understand where Adrian comes from, and I definately would never discredit any of the work he has put in, but this is the definition of competition. No matter the industry, its gonna happen.

how could adrian say BMS is not competition they have sold over $1,000,000 worth of products and tunes maybe more ,that could be in his pocket. That my friend is competition if you ask me.

Which is why I like the jb3, from 1.0-2.0 it would cost you $65 where as procede would cost how much???
Just stating facts here and this does not say anything about the quality of either tune, just a fact of price.

I understand the frustration from the Vishnu guys in regards to the copying aspect, but really all this competition will force everyone involved to make incremental progression in order to differentiate. In the end we as the consumer wins, just a bummer for the companies in competition, as they must spend more resources on pushing more innovation. I might be called selfish for supporting "copying" etc....but hey, that's that way the world works right? Yay for us consumer! Monopolies create stagnant product progression....a la Windows Operating System

Cant wait until this is released! Thank you BMS for giving us YET ANOTHER upgrade path aswell! Really do treat your customers great!
No1 knows where exactly this is going so maybe some of you guys should sit back and watch? This is for BMS guys and potential buyers, maybe the PROcede guys can stay out of this aswell so this thread stays open. |

OK, if you are going to post pics, you might as well give us some information. This post feels like "don't jump over to Procede yet, we've got something in store". You already let the cats front legs out of the bag, let the whole thing out!
Edit: Nevermind, I see the ETA is 3-4 months. At least let us know what is store. |
