It has crazy rasp between 1.8 and 2.4K and the smell is terrible.

I did it and had to go back and buy some race cats to take care of both problems.

I have full catless system: downpipes and exhaust. No smell whatsoever! Not even when idling at stoplights.

Even if you have A - you will still need B (or knowing someone at the station)

A. No tailpipe sniffer
B. $$

They are a lot less restrictive than the stock secondary cats and they take care of 80% of the smell of going completely catless. Plus, lets not forget about the rasp at 2K that you will get without the secondary cats in place.

Best of both worlds. TRUST ME, I have done it both way...

So have I. I am currently running full catless. No rasp to speak of. Just a small deep rumble-drone at 2K, but no rasp whatsoever.

I guess this depends on what kind of hardware you purchase.

Correct, if you keep the stock mufflers you will have these issues for sure.

If you go AE or Bastuck, then maybe not...

Correct!

I have the following:

1. BMS O2 simulator v3 at default setting
2. AR Catless downpipes
3. AE Performance Catless exhaust
4. Stock ECU, intake, intercooler, etc. etc.

I drove for 3 weeks with BMS O2 installed on the stock exhaust system. No problems there.

Then I had a the downpipes and the exhaust installed all at the same time 2 weeks ago. I've been driving around without any problems whatsoever.

Also, in Chicago, they won't require emissions testing till your car is 4 years old. That means 2012 for me since I own a 2008 model. Even when my car is due for emissions, half of the emissions stations in Chicago are OBDII scan only, which means an instant PASS with BMS O2 sim.

...don't you even dare start talking to me about saving the environment because I see rusted out trucks and old rust bucket cars driven by illegal immigrants all over Chicago, that can kill an elephant with their exhausts! Besides, I drive the car 2 times a week and I barely make 500 miles in a month!

You can't directly compare the Bastuck exhaust to the AE exhaust. The bastuck was designed as a axle back exhaust and the AE as dp back with the idea that people would eventually go completely catless.

I have the Quad Bastuck exhaust and there are a few quirks with going completely catless. I would not recommend going completely catless unless you put resonators in because of the rasp Kevin1000 is talking about. Also make sure you keep an x-pipe in there otherwise you will have drone around 2000rpm.

I'm not the only who has dealt with this problem with the bastuck exhaust.

If you don't like any of those options you can always sell the bastuck and go with any other great sounding exhaust, like the AE Performance. They make a quad configuration and have read great things about it.
