I've heard talk on the tuner forums. There's at least two in development--one pretty close to being finished and ready to ship (if not already so).
Sorry I couldn't help more; I don't follow the tuner crowd very much.

Probably better than the manual, actually.

whether AT or MT, the transmission is built like a rock. Search n54tech a bit, and you will see there are users with their 335i's kicking out 450+ hp with not a single reported transmission issue. Now, as far as the long term consequences, I don't know and no one really does because the car is still pretty new. If you plan on keeping the car 3-5 years however you should be alright. Just understand, if you replace the turbos it is not something you can swap in and out when taking it into service like the JB3/DCI, you will lose your warranty.
Instead of new turbos I would recommend getting the following: Downpipes, Meth Injection and Intercooler. Seeing as you already have the JB3, the meth injection, intercooler and downpipes will allow you to run Map 7 (and higher maps if you use the software to create your own map) which will give you astonishing gains. The meth injection is equivalent to running 100+ octane gas every time, and the downpipes and intercooler make sure your safe and the car doesn't overheat or crap out, not to mention extra hp gains with the downpipes. Some users have clocked in 450-480 whp with the mods mentioned above. Not to mention it will cost you a wholllllle lot less than buying new turbos. Just my two cents

Rob Beck has put out upgraded turbo's and so has ASR. pushing power levels of 420whp+ on those baby snails is just asking for failures in the long run. Fun while it lasts though i'm sure.

OP, I may be right, I may be wrong (which I'm almost sure I'm right). Since you purchased your JB3 from burger motorsports, I would suggest asking Terry from BMS this question. He's very knowledgeable and can give you a solid answer.

man by the time you add this and that, you can purchase a nice used M3. And I wouldn't gamble on having 450 ponies on an auto tranny. You are asking for trouble.

I wouldn't trade mine for an E92 M3. I'm too addicted to boost. and the look on m3 drivers faces after I blast off on them.

Why would you say that? We have no experience whatsoever that the auto tranny cannot handle 450 rwhp. In fact the only tranny issues was with Hotrod spraying nitrous THROUGH the shift which is not recommended at all.

one reason that they are sometime more durable than manuals is pretty obvious .. clutch engagment/disengagement... its easy to select gears if they is no secondary input is required.. slipping, feathering, dropping the clutch is a lost art -- known and praticed by a few .... the BMW auto, irregradless has a good track record for getting the power to the ground ... ull be safe .. |

If you have an AT don't waste your money doing a MT swap just buy a LSD and you will be faster around the track. I love being able to go from or 5Th to 3rd without going through 4Th in about 150 milliseconds. What a rush.
