Centaurus Leader - should be departing 12/22/06

I've been lurking here watching with great anticipation for my car to get assigned to a ship before posting. I just found out my little baby is going to be leaving tonite (Bremerhaven time) on the Centaurus Leader!

Attached images show her in bremerhaven and from the webcam - I'm hoping to track her across to the Pacific and Port Hueneme.

Bremerhaven webcam is at:

http://www.blg.de/webcams/autocam-1_en.html

Anyone else on-board?

David

It's a lot of fun tracking your car and I see you're off to a great start. I just picked mine up this week and frankly miss the anticipation and fun of tracking it. Check out the Hual Africa thread for a good blow-by-blow account of this process - although some shipmates still don't have their cars, so it's not over yet.

By the way, you probably have the only green/grey 335 in all of North America. Kudos for being so original!

Thanks wistarf! I actually did follow your and the rest of the Hual Africa shipmates along - that was a lot of fun to watch and I really do appreciate all of the information and tracking bits you were able to dig up and show along the way. It will be very nice to see if I have a few others along with mine as well! I have a friend that works in container shipping (used to be with Maersk which is one of the largest) so I hope she'll be able to get me a bit of tracking information to add to the forum's knowledge base as CL makes its way across.

I was a bit surprised to note there were no other Green/Grey 335i's around on the board at all. Nice to be original! This will be the only 335i in Corvallis as far as I know too.

On the www.dbh.de site it looks like departure has been pushed back until 12/23/2006 - hopefully the delay means a few more e90poster's will be able to get on board!

Centaurus Leader has set sail! :rocks:

I assume she'll follow the same path through Southampton and then on to the Panama Canal. I haven't figured out how to get the itinerary - if anyone else does please let me know.

Attached are a few departure pics. Bon Voyage!

Well, I hope I'm not alone on the Centaurus Leader...

She made it to Southampton - apparently in one piece - and waiting for the MINI's to get their tails on board so we can get the show back on the water!

It looks like she is set to depart at 1000 on 12/24 southampton time - about 0200 pacific.

Here she is in Southampton:

I just found out today that I am on the Centaurus Leader! Does anyone else know where this ship is now?

welcome aboard! its in the middle of the atlantic now and isn't trackable as far as i know. it isn't available on the sailwx.info site so we just have to wait for it to hit the panama canal and possibly catch it there. i expect it to hit the panama canal around 1/6 or 1/7 - judging by transit times of other ships.

glad to have another member aboard - i was getting lonely!

I checked the sailwx also and I was worried when I didn't see the ship...CA told me today that the ship should hit the west coast on 1/15....does that sound right to you?

I also had trouble with the tracking of this car at the port.....BMW and CA's info all said the car was at the port awaiting transport as late as Wed.....maybe others are late to this thread because ofa similar delay of info.....

The wait is now officially UNBEARABLE

Does anyone know how I would find out if I am on this ship without contacting my dealer?

He has been really flakey and given me wrong information a few times so I would like to be able to find out without having to contact him. Since he told me I couldn't even get a production number and track it until it was shipped, I don't feel too comfortable getting the information from him.

The website says my car is 'en route' and the 800 number says my car is 'in transit'.

I would certainly complain to the dealer/supervisor abd talk to BMWNA the 800 # I was using was 800.831.1117.....

Good luck in getting the info. The order tracking really sets BMW apart....true ultimate experience!

I used the same 800 number but only received an automated response saying it is 'in transit'. I will try again in case I missed a different menu option.

Maybe I am better off not knowing. If I knew where my car was or when I would have it I would be counting down the days and it would feel like it's taking that much longer!

hahaha....I understand the grief!

I've never actually spoke to someone at the 800 #, but it's worth a try!

happy new year all!

i agree - this order tracking is a double-edged sword! its fun to track and know what is going on and when to expect it. but, it also heightens the anxiety and really plays to those with OCD - like me!

in any case, i've talked to a real person on the BMWNA 800 # and they apparently can't tell you the exact ship - that apparently is only available to the dealers in their DCSnet system. if you're into tracking the ship with us i'd definitely insist on the information from your dealer. since both the website and the automated 800 # response both say you're "en route/in transit" you are assured its on a ship somewhere.

since the Centaurus Leader is the last NYKLine ship (for west coasters) from 12/22/06 through 1/3/07 i would guess you have a pretty good chance its on it if your car was completed anytime around 12/15-12/18 or so.

welcome aboard if it is!

hi fireballer, that does sound exactly like what i'm seeing. i was hoping it would participate in the system sailwx.info uses as well but it looks like the NYKLine ships don't do that very often.

1/15/2007 is what the port hueneme arrival schedule shows as well. see:

http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...LSCHED_002.pdf

for a weekly schedule that appears to get updated a couple of times a week.

as long as it gets across the pond in good shape it looks like it shouldn't have any congestion in the panama canal and we might be able to catch it on the webcams there. my guess is it will hit the north end of the canal around 1/6 or 1/7.

and i agree - UNBEARABLE!

Hope the new year starts off well!

I believe it was completed around the 15th or 16th. Hopefully it made it on board. If the ship is supposed to arrive on the 15th, when would you guess the car should arrive at the dealership?

they don't have any tracking at all that we can see. i was going to call their RoRo operations number tomorrow to see if i could get any information there. some other trackers appear to have had some luck doing that.

mine was completed on 12/15 so i'd say you have an excellent chance of being on it. they say it takes a few days to get through the VPC so you might get it by the end of the week of 1/15 since you're so close.

well, unfortunately, i haven't had time to be persistent and get information from the NYKLine RoRo operations folks. i'll make another attempt tomorow but we may just have to watch and hope to catch it in the canal locks.

in poking around i found i can bring up the AISLive free site with the Panama Canal tracking at:

http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...ama%20Overview

we may be able to get an early indication that it is near - even though the data is delayed by an hour.

as it gets closer i'm getting more and more anxious!! this is definitely not going to help my work productivity for the next few days.

in looking at the port hueneme arrival schedule it looks like there are 1870 fellow bimmer/MINIs onboard. wow!

The boat should hit the canal within the next 4-5 days......cant wait!

From the Port, I am hoping just a couple days from unloading to being trucked over to Scottsdale.......It's getting closer!:rocks:
