A big improvement, the car certainly looks much better with the xenons fitted.

It took me a while but i'm glad that i waited for an E90 that had factory fitted xenons as its not an easy/cheap mod to do. I dont know why BMW didnt fit them as standard like on the E92. The 6 cylinder E90s come with the headlamp washers fitted as standard but i think they should have put xenons on them too as they make a huge difference.

As mentioned bought the Headlights from a member on here - £300, was charged £100 to fit and £40 for a wiring loom, which evidently is not needed on all cars, as the spec of the lighting control unit can vary - so on some cars may just be £100

So for me £440 in total for the conversion

Quite expensive for what is essentially a cosmetic mod (though the light that xenons put out is better for sure) but it looks great.

Whereabouts in Essex are you? Local to M-Style?

Nick - much difference in light output?

Not worried about the looks (they do look good though) but if the light output is significantly better then I might be interested too.

No xenons on a £38k car - that is BMW being very very tight IMO.

Ah I see. I know there's a few of us who are local (not that I've met anyone other than Tony, flyfs6 and Anneka)...

I prefer the colour of light that Xenons put out as opposed to the quanity. The colour temp is much closer to daylight compared to the orange/yellow tint of halogen/standard bulbs I think.

To be honest I haven't actually driven at night yet! , will update the thread when I've given them a test -

Ok so to get this right then you got a set of standard xenons that had no modifications and mstyle did all the required work for £100 with a £40 part?

Sounds spot on to me if thats the case

Xenons are far better than the normal lights especially on dark unlit fast roads!

For example with high beam on the M50!

However, they are not as good as the Mazda6 MPS I had in terms of reach and defined boundary, and I had to manually adjust the light units as they seemed to only light a short distance in front initially and had a too much drop off on the driver's side (so at speed I was reaching the limits of view too quickly).

The VW Bora I had before was almost as good, but didn't have the bi-xenon aspect. However the Mazda6 MPS was in a different league and didn't blind people either.

Not true, case in point here.

Also why is there a need for washers on halogen lamps? You NEED to have washers on Xenons because without them you'd fail M.O.T...
