a lot of people dont buy first year cars because they are untested, usually manufacturers fix all the bugs that come up that they didnt know about in the second or third year

i know that and im still buying one though

Hi Mazz,

In US we have 335i, no ci but I am assuming you are speaking of the same car. Is it reasonable to buy a first model year? Thats up to you, how badly do you need a car now, how much do you want a 335i now? If we could tell you if you will or wont have serious repairs I suppose we would have to be able to read the future

In other words only you can decide if you are comfortable with a first model year. In the US we have a very strong warranty so we will get a loaner if our car needs serious repair. Not sure if it is the same where you are, good luck with your decision.

Now 335i coupe is the ultimate car. Good-looking, fast, latest design, latest technology, torquey, not too big, spacious enough... The best car one can have. But the competition will get there sooner or later. Also the novelty and rareness of the new coupe form will vanish gradually every day. Also, if you wait too long, it will cost you. After a few months having the best car you can pick, will be A LOT more expensive. (How much more expensive is still unknown (M3)). However, I'm sorry to tell that you need to wait until the next year's production Luckily next year will be SOON!

I think so; as BMW has tested the living daylights out of that car and Egine. They did not want anyone laughing at them on the re-introduction of a gasoline turbo engine.

Also, there have been one or two issues with 335i Engines and BMW has been super quick in addressing them. In one case, the owner opted to have the engine replaced & these is another well documented case were BMW took back the car and gave the owner some cash compensation and he picked a 328i off the lot ... he re-ordered a new 335i

BMW sent both of those Engines back to germany. So it seems any issues might be assembly or some other minor misshap.

In any event, both of those were first month productions (July & August); if you order a car now you will probaly get a February Production for delivery in March or April...

BMW has been quite efficient at updating and fixing any issues that they are aware of!

Check this out:
http://www.bmw-werk-muenchen.de/lowb...ntent_vpt.html

Not a single flaw in mine, so far ... followed break-in procedures to a "T" and after break-in period was over ... I think this guy pops out once in a while and pushed it a bit so far, the only thing that seem to happen to me after this intense experience, something I can't quite wipe off my face

Good luck

Because those are really unique to the 335i, and are reasons not to buy the 1st model year

The lack of warning till the car's in motion is a quirk of all new 3ers... whether it's with or without the 335 engine.
The location of the cruise control stalk is a personal preference.

Again -- neither of your "reasons" make a sound argument against the 335i.

BMW does not make a 3.35 ci

That's closer to what Nissan makes a 3.5.0 or is that Infinity G35, or Nissan 3.5.0.G.T. of Infinity Geezz I'm losing myself in these Renault/Infinity/Nissan/Ford combo/GM Combo games

BMW makes a 335i Coupé AKA on the forum as the "E92 335i"

May I propose and edit in the title?

BMW is keeping an extremely close eye on the 335i.
My SA was saying that anytime one comes in, they have to provide a full report to BMWNA detailing the reason for the visit and the condition of the car.
