BT tool with a Mac
Question... Will the BT tool ever be compatible with just straight windows without running some form of windows?? The reason I have only Macs in my house is b/c I hate windows so much and never wanted to deal with it again. Now this dilemma is the only thing holding me back from a tune and BT tool. I know everyone will yell at me for having only macs, so tell me "its so easy to buy and run and emmulator", but I have to figure over time a Apple version might come out .... right?? Just looking for everyones thoughts.

I have it running on VMWare also, but I think he's wanting to know about a Native Mac App. One that would require no windows Virtualization..

I bought a used pos windows laptop for that reason, the bt tool and some tuning software for my grand national. Besides that and computers at work, I never use windows.

me too. I had to build a netbook with win$hit on it just for datalogging.
Since the app is written in .net framework (which only works on inferior windoze systems), there is absolutely no way to port it to a more advanced OS like OS-X or Linux. |

You might check out the "open source" arena for .net-compatible apps that could run the BT code on Linux. A cheap "netbook" ($200 or so) with Win7 would also be an alternative, especially if BT is all you'd be running on it. I've had Win7 for nearly a year now and so far, so good, no issues. Adapting the software to native Mac OS is something BT woud likely have to do because of their proprietary code.

I run it with parallels and the datalogging works like shit for me. Everything else like code reading and clearing works fine, but the datalogging is the whole reason I got the cable. Not happy.
