Can't wait to ED my next one. I enjoyed our first ED pickup, but in 2007, this is going to be fantastic.

Can you tell when BMW Welt will open. I think it is the summer of 2007, but am not certain.

About June-July 2007. Part of summertrip already planned, first to the new Porsche museum in Stuttgart and then to expanded BMW-Museum and BMW-Welt in München.

When you're in the neighbourhood of Stuttgart / München a visit to the Mercedes-Museum and Mercedes-Welt is also really worth the trip.

Last year already been there, but BMW-Welt wasn't ready yet:

Thanks, planning to pick up an E-93 in late July. I believe BMW Welt will be open then.

It probably won't be open to the public that early; definitely not open for deliveries at that time.

A few photos I took visiting BMW Welt

First is of me, standing in the place where I'll pick up my new car on opening day; 2nd is the construction manager for BMW Welt. The remainder are from inside various parts of the bldg. All taken during the summer.

Nice pictures Jonathan. No new car yet for me next summer, so that's no problem.

Do you know wheter European dealers will let you your car delivered at BMW Welt??

I'm first of all just interested in the architecture of the building. I'm working as an architectural engineer at an office for architecture, that's why.

That is the plan. Did you see my article on BMW Welt in the (I think) October issue of the Roundel magazine?

This is going to be freakin' awesome!
Imagine finally being able to pick up & drop off your E.D. car in the same spot...easy to find & right in the center of town!
Think of the possibilities:
Maybe you'd be able to choose from a whole store full of authentic German BMW accessories that could probably be installed before you leave.:rocks:

I´m not sure about the drop-off. I think that is in discussion.

The car has to be exported stock so I wouldn´t imagine too much could be installed.

I'm sure their goal is to centralize everything. My understanding was that BMW had a much nicer delivery center prior to the one in Friemann, & everything was done there.

Well that surely sucks, but maybe they will eventually find a way around this.

No one has mentioned a drop-off facility to me and I don't recall seeing anyplace inside BMW Welt when I was visiting where vehicles would be dropped off.

That would be Freimann, and it has been the same since the early 1980s if not earlier with the exception of the boutique (if you could call it that, perhaps better called the corner of the room with accessories) that disappeared a few years ago when they needed the space for managing the Jahreswagen program.
