Can I put the Same size tyros on staggered rims?
I currently have 19" 225m staggered on my e93.
I will be getting some LC818 rims which I will put non run flats on. I will put the 225m wheels on my wifes 320 wagon. The 4 cylinder really doesn't need a wide rear tyre. The question is can I put the same size tyres on both the front and back so that i can rotate them at a later stage? |

This question has been asked a million times Why in the world would you rotate staggered rims It looks stupid - wide in front, narrow in back Not to mention you'd have stretch on one wheel and no stretch on the other |

The XI's should do it (square setup). Achieve the staggered look with different offsets.
Can you do it, sure. But if the rears are that much wider than the fronts, you will have normal looking wheels up front and stretched ones in the back.

Why do it? On the 320, there is no performance need to have larger tyres at the back, as it can't break traction. Also, I do lots of stop start and city driving which wears out tyres unevenly, so I want to be able to rotate them to get some more wear out of them. I have had my rear right tyre needing to be replaced after only 5,000km as it is worn on the edge. I expected that you couldn't really do it, but I just thought that I would ask. |
