For the cheapest price, buy one used. Look for one in the turbo sale section or your local regional forums.

If not, i believe the ETS fmic is the cheapest through the group buy. VK (whuch i have) was cheaper, but unfortunately they are still having internal issues.

I'd say ETS is the cheapest one and works well. anything works better than the sorry stock intercooler.

Just bent fins - or oil coating inside.
One can be fixed with a good cleaning - the other not so.

If it is not beat to hell get a jug of purple power cleaner and pour it in for a while and spray it out really well and then slap it on after it dries.

Just check ETS' data. There have been numerous members showing the highest IAT rise with this intercooler of any aftermarket intercoolers on the market.

When putting parts on a car like this, don't fret over saving a couple hundred dollars for a mod like this. $600 compared to $800 compared to $1000 is really not a big deal considering you'll likely have this mod for the duration of owning the car.

From what I've learned...paying for the right thing the first time is ALWAYS the right choice. "Pay for quality, you only cry once"

I prefer the ams but I've been told by a friend that the ETS works well... Every part has its price point. Is an extra 3-400 dollars worth the potentially small gains?

I went the uber cheap route myself. I got VK downpipes with an ETS FMIC, a DevilsOwn basic meth kit. I probably saved 400 on the downpipes, 300 on a comparable higher end FMIC, and 300 on skimping on a progressive kit. I might have lost 3whp if that to save almost 1000 dollars.

The most expensive part on my car is the tune.

That's my mod history, don't know about the others.

I have the ETS IC and so far no problem. I don't track my car, so take it for what it is worth. I got it during the $500 group buy.

I would rather not get involved in this Michael. Your customer's have posted IAT data. The delta over ambient was very large in comparison with other cores.

I have tested a number of intercoolers but neither of those, so unfortunately I have no first hand experience with either.

I had the ETS and loved it..the butt dyno felt the additional power...and then Got a CPE for a good deal and decided to try that since it had the extra oil cooler..i couldnt really tell much of a difference..both felt great. For the price and gains I wouldn't hesitate on the ETS..

No offense (I do appreciate all the work you've put into your reviews and data), but if you're going to make those types of comments it would help to link to the data.

Fair enough.

55F over ambient is not good at all. I have personally tested 3 intercoolers and never seen one go that far over ambient.

Please do not throw the kitchen sink at me now guys.

I think Cp-E is a good bang for the buck actually. $800 and the oil cooler too.

They also dont fudge the numbers of their efficiency like some companies.
